THE UNFORGIVEABLE PAIN OF SENATOR KEN NNAMANI AGAINST CHIEF UCHE NNAJI - THE UNSPOKEN FACTS

The story of Chief Uche Geofrey Nnaji's life can not be retold without an open thanksgiving to God for divine providence at different stages of his life. His contemporaries dubbed him NWAKIBIE because of the uncommon favors he received from God. Everything he touched turned to gold.

A devout Catholic, a committed family man, Chief Uche, lost his father at an early age in 1978.

The loss of his father placed his mother in charge of raising the family and managing his late father’s estate. She taught him integrity, resource management, and hard work, shaping his entrepreneurial spirit.

GRACE IN ENTERPRISES

After completing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Chief Uche Nnaji leveraged ₦10,000 from his mother to launch a successful importation business, starting with pharmaceutical sales to the Orthopedic Hospital in Enugu This initial venture expanded into a thriving empire dealing in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and specialized equipment across the UK, Germany, Taiwan, India, and Hong Kong. His growing success allowed him to transition from air cargo to full-scale shipping, establishing himself as a major player in international procurement and trade.

Nnaji’s entrepreneurial prowess earned him significant recognition, notably becoming the first African to procure a CT scan from PHILIPS MEDICAL in Germany in the mid-1980s and managing major projects like the supply of hospital-grade materials for the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH). Beyond these milestones, he invested heavily in manufacturing and industrial sectors, creating numerous jobs and contributing substantially to economic development in Enugu State through his diverse business ventures.

 JOURNEY TO POLITICS

Chief Uche Nnaji’s political career is marked by resilience and a willingness to challenge established powers, beginning with his support for Chief Jim Nwobodo during the UNCP/GDM/DPN era. His active role in securing Nwobodo’s victory over Senator Ken Nnamani defied the then Military Administrator, resulting in his four-month detention for allegedly underminingAbacha transition program. He was eventually released by General Abdulsalami Abubakar alongside other political detainees, an experience that underscored his commitment to democratic principles despite personal risk.

In the lead-up to the Fourth Republic in 1998, Nnaji helped establish the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State but was controversially replaced as the senatorial candidate by Ken Nnamani In a dramatic strategic move, he switched to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) just 72 hours before the election. This bold decision proved highly successful, as he secured a landslide victory by winning 65 out of 66 wards, decisively defeating the PDP candidate and cementing his status as a formidable political force in Enugu East.

THE POLITICAL DISGRACE THAT CAUSED CHIEF KEN NNAMANI A LIFE TIME PAIN

Ndi Enugu rewards good work and benevolence. Ndi Enugu East Senatorial district chose to reward Chief Nnajj for his good works in touching lives. Residents of  Enugu East Senatorial followed Chief Nnaji to a little known political party, Alliance for Democracy to reward him for his humanitarian projects. Chief Ken Nnamani held the ticket of PDP, but in 72 hours, Chief Nnaji activated AD. Chief Ken Nnamani lost woefully because he took the ticket of the PDP without taking the hearts of the voters

After losing woefully in the polls, Chief Ken Nnamani proceeded to court, and the shame was more. In unanimous decisions, six judges delivered a shocker to him, striking the case out.

To make matters worse, Chief Uche Nnaji handed over his Senatorial win   to Senator Jim Nwobodo, the man that Chief Ken Nnamani detested heavily .

This is the root of the 26 years of bitterness of Chief Ken Nnamani against Chief Uche Nnaji

Although chief Ken nnamani later became a Senator through the help of the then governor Chimaroke Nnamani,  both had deep seated disagreement immediately Senator Ken Nnamani was made a senate president.

Chief Uche Nnaji moved on with his quiet life enjoying God's providence and grateful to Ndi Enugu for the love, yet Chief Ken Nnamani is still trapped in the grief of loss of election in 1999.

During the 2 years tenure of Chief Uche Nnaji,  over 10,000 lives of Ndi Enugu were positively impacted.  Chief Uche Nnaji created jobs at the federal level far beyond what a senate president of Nigeria achieved in all his Years in national politics

NWAKIBIE, thank you for prioritizing the lives of Ndi Enugu. That's mark of  true leadership.

Ndi Enugu has declared ENUGU 2027 - NWAKIBIE OR NOTHING

Nwakibie, you earned the love of the people through your humane personality
