Arthur Eze Gifts Ohanaeze Ndigbo with N100M, Receives Praise for Philanthropy


In a remarkable display of generosity, Prince Engr. Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu), a renowned philanthropist and human empowerment czar, has donated the sum of N100 million to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo Socio-cultural organization. The donation was confirmed by Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.


Prince Eze made the pledge during a gathering of Ndigbo at the Imo State Government Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, on July 10, 2023. Expressing his concern for the funding of Ohanaeze activities, Prince Eze acknowledged the significant contributions of Chief Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, CFR (Ahaejiagamba), a highly revered figure among the Igbo and a prominent business titan in Nigeria. He commended Chief Iwuanyanwu's visionary development agenda for transforming the Igbo land and pledged the generous sum of N100 million to support Ohanaeze Ndigbo.


Dr. Ogbonnia further revealed that Prince Eze fulfilled his pledge on July 11, 2023, when he visited Chief Iwuanyanwu at his residence in Abuja. During the meeting, Prince Eze assured Chief Iwuanyanwu that he would continue to lend his support to the Iwuanyanwu-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo.


In a statement released by Dr. Ogbonnia, he highlighted the inspiring trajectory of Prince Eze, emphasizing his commitment to charitable acts and philanthropy. The statement also acknowledged the contributions of other individuals and organizations who have shown support to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, including a businessman who donated seats to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat and another who provided space during a visit to the Alaba tragedy in Lagos. The statement expressed gratitude to former Governor of Imo State, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, for initiating a significant project at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat.


The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, expressed his delight at Prince Arthur Eze's philanthropic gesture. He hailed him as a trailblazer and a compassionate Igbo son who consistently extends his help to the vulnerable. Chief Iwuanyanwu offered prayers for Prince Eze's well-being and longevity, wishing him the joy of seeing his great-great-grandchildren in good health and prosperity.


While expressing their gratitude, Ohanaeze Ndigbo also acknowledged the unwavering support of Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, who has consistently supported the organization. They recognized Senator Uzodimma as the only Igbo senator who prioritized Ohanaeze's interests during his tenure in the Senate.


Ohanaeze Ndigbo has faced the challenge of serving the entire Igbo community while receiving support from only a few individuals. However, they remain committed to their mission of promoting and protecting the interests of the Igbo people.
