Heartwarming 'Thank You Visit' by Enugu State Youths to Former Lawmaker, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, PhD.


In a touching display of gratitude and admiration, the Concerned Enugu State Youths (CESY), a prominent youth group in Enugu State, recently paid a special 'Thank You Visit' to former lawmaker Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, PhD. Hon. Ezeugwu had served with distinction for 12 years as the representative of Udenu Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly before honorably stepping aside from partisan politics. During the visit, he was lauded for his exemplary leadership during his tenure and his significant contributions through The Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation.

Led by Comr. Kingsley Ekeh, the leader of CESY, the youths expressed their deep appreciation for Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu's outstanding service to the state and the southeast region. They highlighted his pivotal role in the legislative processes and governance systems while serving as a member of the Board of Trustees and National Treasurer of the Conference of State Legislatures of Nigeria (COSLON). Additionally, they recognized his impactful chairmanship of the Southeast Legislative and Governance Reform Committee from 2018 to 2023.

Beyond his legislative duties, the youths commended Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu for his dedication to humanitarian endeavors through The Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation. Established in 2013, the foundation has been instrumental in empowering youths through education by providing scholarships to deserving students in Enugu State. In recent years, its reach has extended to the entire South East Region of Nigeria, supporting twenty-one graduates in various fields, including a medical doctor pursuing a master's degree in Public Health in the UK on a university scholarship.

The Foundation's impact goes beyond education, as it also takes care of widows by renovating or constructing houses for them and providing monthly upkeep allowances. Moreover, it provides mentorship and start-up capital to some of its beneficiaries, enabling them to engage in commercial activities and pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Hon. Ezeugwu expressed his gratitude for the recognition and support from the youth group. He praised CESY for actively monitoring and acknowledging the efforts of leaders in the state, emphasizing the importance of such vigilance in maintaining a thriving democracy. He assured the youths that their visit and appreciation would serve as an inspiration for him to continue his efforts in empowering the community and supporting the younger generation in reaching their full potential.

Having stepped aside from active partisan politics, Hon. Ezeugwu affirmed his commitment to his role as a financial and management consultant, as well as his unwavering dedication to humanitarian service through his foundation.
