He revealed that security surveillance cameras with facial and number plate recognition capabilities will be installed in all DRS vehicles. Additionally, a Command and Control Centre is under construction, expected to be operational within a few weeks. This center will facilitate real-time monitoring of the state's cities and communities, aiding law enforcement efforts.
Highlighting the partnership between the state government and the police, Governor Mbah emphasized their commitment to eradicating criminal activities from Enugu. He urged criminals to change their ways and contribute positively to the state's development, warning that criminal activities would not be tolerated.
CP Uzuegbu echoed the determination to enhance security across the state, noting specific areas and roads vulnerable to insecurity. He assured residents and visitors of a safer environment, conducive to tourism and investment. The Commissioner outlined his vision for Enugu, where citizens could conduct business freely, create job opportunities, and foster unity.
Uzuegbu warned criminals to reform or face the consequences, vowing to be uncompromising in his efforts to maintain law and order. The Commissioner pledged to deal harshly with those who threaten the state's security.
