Ihuoma Eze of Enugu APPEALS Receives Prestigious Potter's Excellence Award for Outstanding Service
In celebration of her integrity and dedication, Mrs. Ihuoma Eze, the Acting Project Coordinator of the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project in Enugu State, was honored at the 2023 Potter's Excellence Awards. The recognition, presented during the "Enugu Women and Youth Productive Skill Fair," underscores Mrs. Eze's remarkable contributions to the community.
The award, bestowed for her honesty, sincerity, and outstanding work with the APPEALS Project, was presented by Prof. Chinedu Nebo, former minister of Petroleum and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka. Mrs. Eze expressed gratitude, acknowledging the Potter's Wheel Foundation's support for the youth and women of Enugu State.
"I do not take it for granted, and I thank you all for finding me worthy," Mrs. Eze emphasized in her acceptance speech, extending appreciation to dignitaries, including HRM Igwe Abel Nwobodo and Dame Ugochi Madueke.
Reflecting on challenges, Mrs. Eze encouraged continued dedication, stating, "The testimonies you get at the end of the day will impact generations," drawing inspiration from Proverbs 22:29.
The Potter's Excellence Awards also celebrated other notable individuals, including HRH Igwe Abel Nwobodo, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, and influential figures from various sectors. The ceremony highlighted the Foundation's commitment to excellence and societal development.
As the Acting Project Coordinator of APPEALS in Enugu State, Mrs. Ihuoma Eze has played a pivotal role in elevating productivity among small and medium-scale farmers. The project, a World Bank Assisted Project, has empowered 1,700 beneficiaries and supported over 3,000 farmers in cashew, rice, and poultry production.
Mrs. Eze, a dynamic and ambitious leader, brings a wealth of experience with a focus on project management. Her diverse activities and roles, complemented by an impressive academic background, have contributed to the success of the APPEALS Project, recognized as the best in the country for fund utilization and performance.
This award not only celebrates Mrs. Ihuoma Eze's achievements but also signifies the collective impact of initiatives dedicated to the betterment of Enugu State and beyond.
