On 3rd of May, 2024, being Friday 'Afor' in Igbo market day, the Mburubu Kingdom in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State will bid farewell to its beloved monarch, Her Royal Majesty Queen Josephine Nwakaego Ezeh, as she embarks on her final journey. Thousands of mourners, friends, and well-wishers are expected to attend the funeral, marking the end of an era for the Mburubu community. The solemn departure of Queen Josephine's body from the Eastern Medical Centre in Enugu signifies the beginning of a period of mourning for the Mburubu community. Pallbearers, carrying the queen’s coffin, will make a two-hour journey through the Nkanu lands before arriving at the Igwe Ozulumba Palace in Mburubu.
