BREAKING: Governor Approves Construction of Modern JAMB Office

In his bid to create a good learning environment for the students in the state, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced plans for the construction of a modern office for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Abakaliki. This decision was made public on Friday during a courtesy visit by the State Coordinator of JAMB to the Governor's office.


Governor Nwifuru, emphasizing the importance of education in his administration, assured the delegation of his commitment to supporting initiatives that align with his vision of expanding access to quality education in the state. He expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the JAMB office, describing it as unsuitable for such a crucial institution in the educational sector.

"The last time I visited the current JAMB office, I was not happy with its condition. It is not befitting for an agency as significant as JAMB," Governor Nwifuru remarked.

In response, the leader of the JAMB delegation, Mrs. Doris Enoch, praised the Governor for his proactive efforts, particularly his intervention in the construction of the Amagu/Nnorom access road. She noted that the road, which leads to JAMB’s temporary office, had previously posed security and accessibility challenges, affecting the agency’s operations.

Earlier, Governor Nwifuru also hosted the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu, led by its Chairman, Barr. Mohammed Sani Takori. During their visit, the Governor called for a comprehensive review of the college's curriculum to better equip graduates for the workforce.

The Provost of the college, Professor Reuben Okechukwu, expressed the institution’s dedication to training students in line with the National Policy on Education, ensuring that they meet the standards of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and are fully prepared for professional teaching careers.

Governor Nwifuru’s efforts underline his administration’s focus on improving educational infrastructure and fostering an environment conducive to learning in Ebonyi State.
