Again, Peter Obi Donates Coaster Bus and ₦50 Million Naira Cash to Kogi Nursing School

The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting educational institutions with his recent visit to Grimard College of Nursing Sciences in Anyigba, Kogi State. On Tuesday, 15th October 2024, Mr. Obi presented a 32-seater coaster bus and made a substantial cash donation of ₦50 million to the institution.

During the visit, which was a follow-up to a pledge he made three months ago, Mr. Obi highlighted that the donation was aimed at improving the learning environment and supporting the school in achieving accreditation. Earlier this year, he had donated ₦10 million to the college. At that time, the school administration had expressed an urgent need for a bus to transport students for clinical visits, which is a key requirement for the institution's accreditation.

In a post shared on his X account, Mr. Obi explained, "Yesterday, I returned to Grimard College of Nursing Sciences in Anyigba, Kogi State, to honor a pledge I had made earlier. I had previously donated ₦10 million, and upon further discussions with the Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Adaji, we agreed that a fairly used bus costing between ₦20 million and ₦30 million would meet their needs."

True to his word, Mr. Obi delivered a 32-seater bus to the institution and added a donation of ₦50 million to cover costs such as registration, insurance, and other expenses.

He expressed gratitude to the school’s administration for their hospitality and dedication to improving education and healthcare in Nigeria. Mr. Obi also reassured them of his continued support, stressing the importance of working together towards building a better Nigeria.

The school’s management and staff lauded Mr. Obi’s generosity, emphasizing how the donations will enhance their educational offerings and ensure the school continues to provide quality healthcare training.
