EXPOSED! Tinubu’s Minister Involved in Banditry Revealed
Shocking allegations has been made against the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, by Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, accusing him of complicity in banditry activities within the state. Lawal disclosed that during Matawalle’s tenure as governor, bandits were harbored in the Zamfara State government house.
In a revealing interview on Television Continental (TVC) on Wednesday, Lawal did not hold back in calling for Matawalle's resignation. He emphasized that stepping down from his ministerial post would be the honorable course of action, allowing the former governor to face the serious allegations against him.
“There were a lot of issues in the past with my predecessor. In fact, let me be very categorical, if I were him, I would resign and face all the allegations. That would be more honorable because from all the information we’re gathering, my predecessor was fully involved in some of these banditry issues,” Lawal stated.
One of the most alarming revelations was an instance where a permanent secretary’s children were abducted, and a ransom was reportedly paid through the state government house. Lawal accused Matawalle of sheltering bandits within the government premises, further deepening suspicions of his involvement in the region’s prolonged insecurity.
Governor Lawal highlighted the growing concern among the people of Zamfara following Matawalle’s appointment as Minister of State for Defence by President Bola Tinubu. He questioned the fairness of such an appointment, given the weighty accusations that still linger.
“So for me, honestly, if I were him, I would step aside and face these allegations until I clear my name. That would have been more honorable. How can you imagine all these allegations against him, and he’s still the Minister of Defence? That is unfair to the people of Zamfara,” Lawal remarked.
He urged Matawalle to consider the dignity of resignation, clear his name, and then return to serve the nation, stressing that it would be the most respectful way to handle the situation.
Matawalle’s Involvement Raises Serious Concerns
The accusations cast a heavy shadow over the integrity of Matawalle’s leadership during his tenure as Zamfara State Governor. The governor’s call for Matawalle to resign sends a strong message, particularly in a region that has been severely impacted by banditry.
Governor Lawal’s statements have sparked debate across various political circles, with many watching closely to see whether Matawalle will heed the call to step down.
Public Reaction
The revelations have left many in Zamfara and across the country stunned. Citizens have expressed concerns about how deeply rooted the issue of banditry may be within the government structures of Zamfara State. Matawalle’s silence on the matter, thus far, has only heightened speculation about his role in the ongoing insecurity in the region.
Governor Lawal’s bold stance against his predecessor has been met with support by some, who view this as a step toward restoring peace and accountability in the region. However, others remain skeptical, awaiting Matawalle’s response to these grave allegations.
While the situation unfolds, Zamfara State remains at the forefront of discussions on national security, with many questioning how deeply the banditry crisis has infiltrated political ranks.
