Udenu, the Time for True Progress is Now

 

The great people of Udenu Local Government Area, the time for a guaranteed transcendental development stride is here and now. Yes, as Frantz Fanon once said, " every society out of relative obscurity discovers its mission. It either fulfils it or betrays it". Udenu has come to a point where it is set to fulfil its mission. The mission is that of all inclusive and encompassing development of human and material resources. Yes, the mission of deploying tact, ideas, knowledge and wit to optimise resources in such a way that Udenu begins a monumental leap into an exponential growth. 

This is exactly why we are elated that  the forthcoming Local Government elections present a golden opportunity to reshape our beloved Udenu and set it on a path of unprecedented growth and prosperity. All through the campaigns across the ten wards, interfaces with trade unions, organised and professional bodies, women and youth groups, elders councils, churches, the Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Akachukwu Eze Akachukwu has made bare his manifesto and perfect blueprint for a new order in Udenu. 

Across the wards, members of different political parties, especially Labour party all came out enmasse to pledge support and acceptance of his candidacy, promising same on the message of hope he canvasses and his credentials as a result oriented, honest and trustworthy leader. Majority decamped outrightly from their parties to PDP while a coalition of over seven other parties like APC, ADC, SDP and others endorsed his candidacy, calling on Udenu people to embrace the candidacy of Aka Eze Aka, the People's Democratic Party's flagbearer. This is not ordinary. This is unarguably unprecedented.  

Aka Eze Aka is not just another politician with lofty promises. He is a son of the soil who understands our challenges because he has lived among and with us. He possesses an intimate knowledge of the issues hindering our progress, from inadequate infrastructure to limited economic opportunities especially for our teeming youths and potential workforce. 

But Aka Eze Aka is more than just aware of our problems; he has the solutions. As a tested and trusted leader, he brings a wealth of experience, a sharp intellect, and the unwavering commitment needed to usher in a new era for Udenu. His vision encompasses all the critical and none critical sectors.

There is this assurance that with Aka on the command centre of leadership in Udenu, no community will be left behind. He brings to the table the  prioritization of equitable distribution of resources and opportunities to ensure that every corner of Udenu will feel the impact of progress. In his well crafted manifesto, the first of its kind in the history of Udenu, he vowed to align his visions with that of His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor Enugu State, in such a way that bears true meaning for our people. In aligning his vision for Udenu with the  development trajectory of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the leadership of Udenu under him will be strategically positioned to benefit fully from the transformative agenda in the state, especially in areas of road infrastructure, education, healthcare etc. 

Youth Capacity Development and Optimization is one area where the passion of Aka Eze Aka rings bell. He agrees that our youths are the future and has canvassed his dedication to empowering them with the requisite skills, resources, and opportunities they need to compete with their contemporaries from all around the world and effectively thrive in the 21st century. In area of sports, he assures that he will partner with the management of Rangers International Football Club to hunt for talents, train our talented footballers and unleash them into world stage. Indeed, Udenu local government has an avalanche of talented and gifted footballers. Nevertheless,  he is not just priming his focus on just football but on all others sporting activities such as sprint, baskeball, volleyball, Table and lawn tennis and others. 

On ICT, he promises that his  administration if elected will as a matter of urgency take ownership and leverage the ICT and Innovation centre constructed by Enugu State Government and turn it into a booming hub for youth capacity molding in web design, app development, artificial intelligence,  robitics etc, noting that Udenu must move into tomorrow today. 

In his grassroots economic expansion, 

Aka pledges to implement innovative initiatives to stimulate local businesses, attract investments, and create a conducive environment for sustainable economic growth especially in areas of agriculture. Udenu is indeed an agricultural destination with vast arable soil across the communities. In this regard, he promises to liaise with the traditional rulers, Town Unions and all relevant bodies to designate areas for farms, establish farm settlements targeting value chains specific to each community. This will not only turn udenu local government into a food basket, but create employments for our youths.  In furtherance his administration will harness the immense potential of our agricultural sector by empowering our farmers, modernizing farming practices, and creating a robust value chain that benefits everyone.

Security of lives and property is one other area of concern which his administration will not take for granted. Udenu is relatively peaceful, but being a transit route and gateway local government, there is need 

prioritize the safety and security of all Udenu residents by enhancing the operational efficiency of the security agencies. He promises to work tirelessly to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all. 

In this regards, he has an additional three pronged approach. First is crime prevention. To do this, the administration must work to keep the youths busy with skill acquisition, sports and  excite healthy competitions. The administration will also commit to giving the youths value reorientation and redirection to help them discover their authentic personalities. Furthermore, community policing is critical. Here his administration will not only retune the community policing agencies such as Neighbourhood Watch and Forest Guard by giving them adequate training, but will also partner relevant community leadership organs to effectively monitor, gather intel, report abuses, infractions and all activities that may lead to security breach. This way, it will be easy to work with various communities to protect their domains while government provides them with critical support. 

Potable water supply has been a major challenge to the people of Udenu over the years, and painfully, when it shouldn't be so. His manifesto details on how to revamp the Udunedem Water Scheme situate at Umuezejor with a massive reservoir at Ugwuegbe. The scheme hitherto supplied water to Obollo Afor, Amalla, Umundu, Igugu, Ezimo, Imilike and Orba. Aside the  resuscitation of the water scheme, he canvasses the sinking of boreholes across the communities to ensure that no community lacks potable drinking water. It is therefore heartwarming that Udenu is on the verge of getting it right. Yes, it is indeed an era of massive shift and a break away from the past. 

The candidacy of Aka Eze Aka indeed promises a lot of positives too numerous to be exhausted without wearing out your patience. Therefore, 

Udenu people, the choice is clear. Let us come together, irrespective of political affiliations, and elect a leader who embodies our aspirations for a brighter future.
