Greater Awgu Youths Commend Chief Aloysius Ogbonna for Prioritizing Infrastructure, Community Well-being and Youth Development
...Says His support for humanity, Community Service and the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah are pivotal in fostering unity and progress in the region.
Youths from Aninri, Awgu, and Oji River Federal Constituency under the aegis of Greater Awgu Youth General Assembly (GAYGA) have commended the outstanding contributions of the Igwe Elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr., towards community building and human capital development.
The President, Greater Awgu Youth General Assembly (GAYGA), Comrade Okolie Valentine Ebuka, made this known on Monday in a commendation press statement which he personally signed and sent to newsmen in Enugu.
He stated that Chief Aloysius Ogbonna has, over the years, demonstrated a deep commitment to the progress and well-being of the people of Greater Awgu.
He highlighted Chief Ogbonna’s significant role in enhancing access to clean water through the water reticulation project in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese, where the Igwe Elect personally contributed ₦600,000 towards the community’s share of the ₦12 million project, which, he said, has greatly improved access to clean water (Man's most basic need), promoting a healthier living environment.
Comrade Okolie also commended Chief Ogbonna’s involvement in local infrastructure development, particularly through partnerships with other community members in the renovation and equipping of the Ibite Health Center and Ogugu Central School.
He noted that these efforts, sponsored by prominent figures like Chief and Lolo Nweke, and Gidim Ejike Okonkwo and his wife, have brought essential health and educational services closer to the people, reflecting the Igwe elect's dedication to community welfare.
GAYGA also appreciated the efforts of Chief Ogbonna in providing food security and support for families during the COVID-19 era.
He emphasized the distribution of 4,500 bags of rice, including 2,500 from Chief Ogbonna’s personal resources and 2,000 sourced through Enugu indigenes in South Africa to cushion the harsh economic realities among many homes. An act that, he said, shows his commitment to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's visions and aspirations for the state.
He also commented Chief Ogbonna’s efforts in enhancing democracy at the grassroot level through electoral participation, connecting the local populace to the state government agenda and promoting the achievements of the State Government led by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's administration through media engagements and community events.
Comr. Okolie acknowledged how these activities have bolstered pride among the people of Greater Awgu reinforcing a sense of unity and progress within the Greater Awgu community.
