BREAKING: IGP Orders Police Officers to Stop Wearing Dark Glasses with Uniform

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has issued an order for police personnel to immediately cease wearing dark glasses while in uniform. This directive, which was communicated through a wireless message on January 21, 2025, warns that any violation of this order will lead to severe sanctions. The message emphasized that wearing dark glasses while in uniform reflects poorly on the police force.

In a related development, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is set to graduate 10,000 recruit constables from various training institutions across the country. The graduation ceremony, scheduled for January 23, 2025, will take place at four different Police Colleges and twelve Training Schools. IGP Egbetokun will preside over the event, and the new constables, after completing rigorous physical and mental training, will be deployed to various state commands.

The NPF has expressed confidence that these new recruits will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and dedication to service, enhancing community safety and public engagement.
