Breaking! Wike Finally Revokes Land Allocations for Senators, Governors, and Top Politicians (See List).

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revoked land allocations for several prominent figures, including Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri, Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu. This decision follows the expiration of an extended grace period for these individuals to settle their Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) bills for plots in Maitama II, Cadastral Zone A10, Abuja.

According to Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the FCT Minister, a total of 568 land allottees had their Right of Occupancy (R-of-O) withdrawn after failing to meet the payment deadline. Other notable figures affected include former Enugu State Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, and Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

In October 2024, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) issued a notice to 3,273 allottees, granting them a two-week ultimatum to settle their outstanding payments. While 2,511 allottees complied, the remaining 762 were given an additional two-week grace period. However, by January 15, 2025, only 194 of these allottees had completed their payments, leaving 568 in default.

The FCTA's revocation notice is based on Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978, which allows the withdrawal of land rights for non-compliance with the terms of the grant. The notice clarified that titleholders who completed their payments by January 15, 2025, would remain unaffected by the revocation.
