SAD: Secondary School Students Beat Teacher Into Coma in Kogi

 


A disturbing incident has been reported at Ebira Muslim Community College Okengwe (EMCCO) in Okene LGA, Kogi State, where a group of male students allegedly beat their Physics teacher, Mr. Muktar Salihu, into a coma.

The students, believed to be in SS2, reportedly attacked the teacher in a violent altercation. Abdulbatin, identified as the leader of the group, is said to be the son of a traditional ruler in the region. As of now, Mr. Salihu is receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Teachers at the school have called for urgent intervention from the Kogi State Ministry of Education, the State Education Board, security agencies, and other relevant authorities. They urge swift action to hold the perpetrators accountable, prevent further violence, and restore discipline in schools.

The District Police Officer has already initiated steps to investigate the matter, ordering the traditional ruler to produce his son for questioning. Authorities are hopeful that justice will be served in this grave situation.
