State Govt Close Down Brothel, Evacuates 10 Sæx workers



Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade), an agency of the Anambra State government, has shut down a notorious brothel in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area. The brothel, known as Happiness Guest House, was reported to harbor sex workers, drug peddlers, and other criminals.

During the operation, the enforcement team rescued ten sex workers, including underaged girls. Chief Celestine Anere, the Managing Director of the OCHA Brigade, stated that the operation was carried out after monitoring and intelligence reports indicated that the brothel facilitated criminal activities, including drug trafficking and the exploitation of under-aged sex workers. The brothel was also a hideout for armed robbers and other criminals.

Anere vowed to arrest and prosecute the operators of the facility to serve as a deterrent to others running similar illegal activities in the state.

The Imo State Police Command has issued an official statement to clarify the misinformation circulating in a viral video that has sparked concern among residents. The video, which shows vehicles set ablaze by individuals allegedly affiliated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) while enforcing an unlawful sit-at-home order, is being recirculated across social media platforms.
