BREAKING: Again, Youth Corper Bæten To Death, Police Commissioner Promises to Bring Perpetrators to Justice
A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), identified as Safwan Fade, has tragically been beaten to death by hoodlums in the Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Fade, who was serving with the Federal University of Education in Pankshin, was reportedly attacked by a group of hoodlums who stormed a local stadium within the area. The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, confirmed the incident during a statement at the Command's headquarters in Jos.
According to the Commissioner, two male suspects, Samuel Dang Kat and Zatshinen Wubwerwe, have been arrested in connection with the attack. He further revealed that 24 suspects had been arrested for various offenses in the ongoing investigation, with efforts being intensified to capture any remaining perpetrators.
On January 23, 2025, a report was made by Umbule Boreng Reuben of Pankshin LGA, who stated that Safwan Adamu Fade was severely beaten by unknown individuals at the Pankshin township stadium on January 22, 2025. After being rushed to the hospital, the victim was initially declared stable but later transferred to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) due to complications, where he ultimately died.
The police assured that they would bring the perpetrators to justice. The Commissioner thanked the public for their support and cooperation in the fight against crime, highlighting the success of the police force in recovering arms and making arrests.
