BREAKING: Spar to Charge ₦150 for Nylon Bags Following Government Ban

Popular retail chain Spar has announced that, starting February 1, 2025, customers will be charged ₦150 per nylon bag due to new government regulations banning the use of plastic bags.

In a notice to customers, Spar stated that January 31, 2025, would be the last day nylon bags would be provided for free. The retailer urged shoppers to prepare for the change and thanked them for their understanding.

This move aligns with efforts to reduce plastic waste and promote environmentally friendly alternatives across Nigeria.
