Fire Breaks Out at Nigerian Law School Kano Campus

A devastating fire broke out on Wednesday night at the Nigerian Law School Kano Campus, engulfing the students' hostel and leaving significant destruction in its wake. The blaze destroyed personal belongings, including clothes, important credentials, and electronic gadgets like laptops.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as both students and staff were quickly evacuated. However, the fire has left many students in distress, particularly those who were preparing for their final bar examination just two weeks away.

In a statement, the Nigerian Law School Muslim Students-Κano Campus confirmed the extent of the damage, with students left with nothing but the clothes they wore at the time. A video circulating on social media showed students attempting to extinguish the fire in the absence of fire service support. One student expressed frustration, stating that they had never seen a fire service truck at the campus.

The management of the Nigerian Law School has yet to release an official statement on the incident. This fire follows closely after a similar tragedy in Zamfara, where 17 pupils of an Almajiri school perished in a fire the previous day.
