State House Of Assembly Approves Bill to Create State-Owned Armed Security Force

The Kano State House of Assembly has approved a bill establishing a state-owned armed security force.

The development follows extensive deliberations on the key provisions of the bill, including a contentious clause that prohibits members of political parties from heading the security agency.

According to the majority leader of the house, Lawan Husaini Dala, the legislative body conducted a thorough review of the bill to ensure it serves the best interests of all sectors in the state. Dala assured that the leadership of the security outfit will be entrusted to a non-partisan indigene of the state, in accordance with the law.

The newly established security force will be empowered to bear arms, make arrests, prevent crimes, and apprehend offenders across Kano State.
