PROFOUND QUESTIONS TO PONDER IN FEBRUARY
By Bishop Collins Chinedu:
Life presents us with deep and timeless questions: What is the origin of life? Is there true justice, reward for good, and recompense for evil? What is the purpose of existence? And what lies beyond death? If there is an afterlife, which path leads to eternal life?
In contemplating these mysteries, one truth stands clear: no house exists without a designer and builder. By extension, life itself is not a mere accident of chance; it bears the mark of intentionality, intelligence, and design. The intricate order of nature is a testament to a superior intelligence that governs the universe. This, in turn, leads to a fundamental question: Who is the supreme intelligence behind the complex harmony of existence?
Throughout history, even among the ranks of science, many great minds have acknowledged a wisdom beyond human comprehension. This search for meaning has given rise to diverse belief systems, from Christianity and Islam to Buddhism, Sikhism, African Traditional Religions, and even occult practices. The quest for understanding is universal, and it is as old as humanity itself.
I believe in hard work. I believe in integrity. I believe in sincerity of purpose. Yet, these virtues alone do not explain the enigma of human suffering, the existence of evil, or the mysteries of fate. They do not account for inexplicable misfortunes, sudden illnesses defying medical reasoning, miraculous healings, or near-death recoveries beyond scientific comprehension.
In the face of life's uncertainties, I hold this conviction: the pursuit of truth is noble. The sacrifices of good men are not in vain, and the wicked will not escape justice. Thoughtful planning and visionary leadership can address many of society's ills, but there are realities beyond human control. Material success offers fleeting gratification, yet there exists a joy that transcends the physical—the Joy of the Lord.
This joy is the strength of believers, empowering them to reject corruption and uphold righteousness. I believe in God, whose name is Jehovah. I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by men and women who encountered His mercy and judgment.
If Nigeria's leaders were anchored in this higher joy—one that surpasses material wealth—they would rise above greed and work toward building a nation for generations they will never see. This is the essence of true legacy.
Let us pray for all leaders. It is a biblical command. Pray for those who lead in homes—husbands and wives. Pray for leaders in business, governance, and traditional institutions. May they stand for truth, even when it is unpopular, refusing to compromise for personal gain.
"Godliness with contentment is great gain."
God grants ideas to ordinary people, enabling them to pioneer innovations that improve the world. In this co-creative process, humanity reflects the image and likeness of God. But let us be clear: God does not require human blood to bless or prosper anyone. The cycle of prosperity is simple: Learn. Work. Reward.
The highest rewards come from creating solutions that save or enhance lives. Prosperity comes from honest labor, not from bloodshed. Any individual who sheds human blood will, in turn, face judgment. This is the unchanging law of Genesis 9, the foundation of divine justice and capital punishment.
May God open your mind to higher realms of possibility, inspiring you to create solutions that yield lasting rewards. May you find true happiness in life and abiding joy in the Lord.
Seek meaning through Jehovah. Embrace a purpose-driven life, even in the face of wickedness and greed.
Stand out. Shine. This is the month of family, God's presence, and protection over your home. May you experience all the blessings of the Lord.
