SAD: Man Hack Elder Brother to Dæth Over Food Dispute
37-year-old Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor has been arrested for allegedly k!ll!ng his 45-year-old elder brother, Emmanuel Okafor, in Adegbe village, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. The dispute reportedly stemmed from an argument over foodstuffs.
According to a statement by the Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu, the incident took place on February 7, 2025, when police operatives from the Abagana Police Divisional Headquarters and AVG operatives apprehended the suspect at 7 pm.
Kosisochukwu confessed to killing his brother following a heated argument, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, Kosisochukwu reportedly used a stick to pierce Emmanuel’s chest. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending medical staff.
"This tragedy underscores the urgent need to address domestic violence and conflicts within families," said Tochukwu. "It also highlights the importance of managing disputes in a healthy and constructive manner to prevent such irreparable consequences."
The case has now been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka. Investigations are ongoing, and once completed, the suspect will face trial.
This incident has shocked the local community, emphasizing the need for better conflict resolution and emotional management within households to prevent such deadly outcomes.
