VIDEO: How The Arranged Endorsement of Gov. Mbah by Fake "Enugu East Senatorial Zone Major Stakeholders" was Exposed as a Cash-Driven Charade

The much-publicized gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Enugu East Senatorial District, where Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah was “endorsed” for a second term and urged to join the APC ahead of 2027, has been unmasked as nothing more than a cash-seeking political charade designed to deceive the governor and financially exploit him.
The so-called meeting, held at Ozom Hotel, Independence Layout, Enugu, and led by Dr. Ben Nwoye, has now been tainted by a shocking admission from Nwoye himself, who was captured on video boldly declaring in Igbo: “Okwa ego ka anyi na achu” translated as “It’s money that we are looking for.” This damning statement confirms what many discerning APC members and political observers had long suspected: the endorsement was not about the future of Enugu State or the growth of the APC, but about personal enrichment.
This revelation validates the earlier decision of Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie and Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah to suspend Ben Nwoye and his clique from the party. Their consistent pattern of behaviour has shown that their interest in the APC is neither ideological nor developmental but purely transactional, often selling out the party to the ruling PDP during election periods for selfish gain. Chief Uche Nnaji’s principled stand against such betrayal in 2023 is precisely what has fueled Nwoye’s relentless propaganda war against him on social media, television, radio, and other sponsored platforms.
The desperate theatrics of Nwoye, retired military officer Gen. Ugwu Sunday, and Hon. Maduka Nelson Arum, under the guise of “welcoming” Governor Mbah into the APC, now stand fully exposed as a money-making ploy. Their loud applause and flowery speeches praising a governor they once criticized only underscore the hypocrisy of a faction willing to mortgage the party’s integrity for immediate financial gratification.
The so-called endorsement of a governor who is still a card-carrying member of the PDP is not only politically meaningless but also a calculated attempt to merchandise the APC brand in Enugu State, as has been their trademark for years. The plan is simple: create media noise, flatter the governor, and then extract financial rewards under the pretense of cross-party “unity.”
We therefore call on all genuine members of the APC, from the national leadership down to the ward structures, to disregard this self-serving drama. The antics of Ben Nwoye and his associates are designed to undermine the rapid growth of the APC in Enugu State by turning the party into a bargaining chip for private gain.
The future of the APC cannot be built on the backs of those who openly confess that their only goal is “ego” money. It is time for party faithful to close ranks, reject these opportunists, and focus on strengthening the APC as a credible alternative for the people of Enugu State, rather than allowing it to be hijacked by individuals whose loyalty is for sale to the highest bidder.
