Youths Commend Enugu Former Legislator, Hon. Ezeugwu.


The Eastern News Hub correspondence in Enugu on Friday, received a commendation letter from a prominent good governance advocacy youth group in Enugu State, The Concerned Enugu State Youths for Good Governance (CESY). 

The letter has CESY penned down a heartwarming open letter to an ex-lawmaker in the state, Rt. Honorable Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, who honorably bowed out from politics after making remarkable impacts in the lives of his constituents through several life changing empowerment programmes and his popular humanitarian foundation which has been waxing strong for over a decade, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Scholarship Foundation.

Our Enugu Correspondence reported that the unique attribute of CESY  is for standing firm with their mandate for quality leadership and good governance in Enugu State. The group had led several campaigns in the state calling the attention of the government to several topical issues bothering the citizens of Enugu State.

The commendation open letter was contained in document signed by the group's president, Comr. Kingsley Ekeuramah on Thursday, 22nd of June, 2023 and Submitted to Eastern New Hub on Friday, 23rd, June, 2023.

On behalf of Concerned Enugu State Youths (CESY), we extend our warmest regards and heartfelt appreciation for your remarkable service and dedication to our community. As a youth advocacy group focused on promoting good governance, we are honored to commend you for your honorable decision to step away from politics after three successful tenures spanning approximately 12 years.

Throughout your time as a lawmaker, your commitment to your constituency, Udenu, has been unwavering. We would like to express our utmost admiration for your tireless efforts in empowering women and your significant contributions to humanitarian activities through your Foundation. Your dedication to uplifting the lives of the most vulnerable members of our society has left an indelible impact and set a commendable example for future leaders.

Moreover, your love for the youth and students community has not gone unnoticed. We applaud your scholarship scheme, which extended beyond Udenu to benefit the entire South East Region and other parts of Nigeria. By providing educational opportunities to countless deserving individuals, you have nurtured the minds and talents of our future leaders. In addition to your remarkable efforts in education and empowerment, we commend your contributions in the field of healthcare. Your numerous medical outreaches and the "GburusCare Initiative Medical Outreaches for the Elderly," which you personally sponsored and sustained for one year, have had a profound impact on the lives of many. Your dedication to improving access to healthcare services and alleviating the suffering of the elderly demonstrates your deep compassion and concern for the well-being of our community.

Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude for the houses you have built for several women and the continued support you provide through your Foundation's Scholarship program. Your generosity has created a lasting positive change in the lives of these individuals, offering them security, stability, and the opportunity to pursue their dreams. Again, Oriokpa Masquerades Kill Another Innocent Woman in Enugu

A middle-aged woman was reportedly killed today in Enugu, Tuesday, 24th of September 2024, in Nsukka Town in separate incidents involving the notorious Oriokpa masquerades, whose violent activities have continued to instill fear in the local communities. The first casualty, an unidentified middle-aged woman, met her untimely death at Aku Road, Obechara area, Nsukka, after being chased by one of the Oriokpa masquerades. In an attempt to escape, she ran into a moving truck and was killed instantly, causing widespread panic and horror among onlookers.
