Enugu State Gov't Prioritizes Women Empowerment, Set to Partner Lantana College of Hospitality


The Enugu State Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Hon. Pharm Chika Ugwuoke, conducted a pivotal visit to Lantana College of Hospitality. The primary aim of this visit was to explore potential collaborations in skills development, with a specific focus on equipping women in Enugu State with crucial hospitality skills for employment and wealth generation.

Representing Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's administration, Hon. Pharm Chika Ugwuoke underscored the government's dedication to equipping its citizens with the skills essential for innovation and economic progress. He expressed, "Governor Peter's Administration is resolutely committed to positioning our citizens with the robust skills needed to drive innovation and boost our GDP through entrepreneurship. The governor particularly prioritizes empowering women in Enugu in this endeavor."

The commissioner was visibly impressed by the exceptional capacity and resources available at Lantana College. He remarked, "The facilities here at Lantana College are of world-class quality, ideally suited to provide our women with the practical skills required to excel in the hospitality industry."

One of the most notable aspects of this strategic partnership is the intention to employ graduates from Lantana College to support the governor's upcoming renovation project for the Presidential Hotel, Nike Lake. This initiative aims to meet the growing demands of the flourishing hospitality sector in Enugu by supplying well-trained personnel and significantly contributing to job creation, with a specific focus on empowering women in the community.

Enugu State, renowned for its vibrant culture and natural beauty, has increasingly garnered attention as an investment and economic opportunity hub.
