Enugu State Gears Up for Dry Season Rice Farming with Federal Ministry Inspection

The recent inspection of rice fields in Enugu State by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security holds great significance as the state aims to become a thriving center for agricultural production and economic growth under the visionary leadership of Governor Peter Mbah. This inspection encompassed extensive rice fields in the Nkanu East Local Government Council, including the previously mentioned Owo, Ubahu, and Amankanu rice fields. Furthermore, neighboring rice fields in Imeoha Community in Nkerefi were also examined, revealing an impressive 3,000 additional hectares of rice fields. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, has strongly condemned the domestic violence inflicted upon a pregnant woman, Mrs. Patience Nwachukwu (Née Edeh), by her spouse, Mr. Evidence Ugochukwu Nwachukwu. The incident unfolded tragically as Mrs. Nwachukwu lost her five-month-old pregnancy due to the brutal assault. Commissioner Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih wasted no time in taking action to ensure justice prevails in this distressing case. She stated emphatically that "the ministry will make sure that the law takes its full course" in response to this reprehensible act. Thanks to the prompt intervention by the ministry, Mrs. Nwachukwu's life was saved, though her pregnancy was tragically lost.
