The President of the National Centre for Youth Transformation (NCYT), Hon. Arinze Emmanuel Eze, has expressed his profound commendation for Governor Barr Dr. Peter Mbah of Enugu State following the recent announcement of significant road infrastructural projects within the state. Among the most notable is the dualisation of the 41.3km Abakpa Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road, a project that promises to revolutionize commerce, transportation and Agriculture for economic development of Enugu  North Senatorial Zone.

In his statement, Hon. Eze, affectionately known as Bravo, praised Governor Mbah for his visionary leadership and substantial commitment to infrastructural development. Eze, who previously served as a special assistant on Youth Transformation to the former Governor, highlighted the proposed dualisation of the Abakpa Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road as one of Gov Peter Mbah's great leadership strides. He emphasized that this project represents one of the largest and longest road developments in the history of Enugu State, citing its anticipated positive impact on the entire Nsukka zone.

Eze, a prominent youth leader from Orba in Udenu Local Government Area and real estate mogul, recalled his active support for Governor Mbah during the campaign period and expressed enthusiasm about the administration's recent strides. He believes that this extensive road network will drive significant economic growth, improve connectivity, and enhance the overall quality of life in the his zone.

It could be recalled that Governor Mbah’s administration has approved an impressive budget of N183 billion for the construction of 141 roads within Enugu metropolis and 20 rural roads across the state's three senatorial zones last weekend. This strategic investment is designed to uplift rural infrastructure, boost agricultural productivity, and facilitate easier movement of goods from farms to markets.

In a detailed briefing, Engr. Gerald Otiji, the Enugu State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, outlined the scope of the current phase of projects. These include the dualisation of the 41.3km Abakpa Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road, the Penocks Junction-Nike Lake Road to T-Junction Flyover, the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara Road complete with two new bridges, and the Umabi-Ehuhe Achi Road with a spur to Agbudu-Ihe-Owelli-Ogugu by the Enugu-Port Harcourt old road. Other significant projects include Nomeh-Oduma Road, Mburubu-Nkereffi Road, and Amodu-Akpugo Road.

Governor Mbah has stressed that these road projects are critical for scaling up agricultural production, reducing transportation bottlenecks, and enhancing market accessibility. This comprehensive road development plan aligns with the broader strategy of de-risking agricultural investments and improving processing capabilities, which will, in turn, support sustainable economic growth.

The extensive infrastructure investment reflects the state government's unwavering commitment to addressing pressing development challenges and fostering both urban and rural economic advancement.
