Uju Kennedy Writes to Tinubu After Removal as Women Affairs Minister
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian people for the opportunity to serve the country during her tenure. President Tinubu recently relieved her of her duties as part of a cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday.
In a statement released on her social media account on Thursday morning, Uju Kennedy reflected on her over a year of service, describing it as an honor and a privilege to contribute to the nation's development.
"I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our Nation," she stated.
She also extended her thanks to Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her support and guidance during her time in office. According to Uju Kennedy, the First Lady’s kindness and encouragement played a significant role in her success.
"I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. Her kindness and encouragement have been instrumental to my success."
In her message to Nigerians, Uju Kennedy expressed deep gratitude for their trust and confidence in her, which she said served as a source of inspiration throughout her service.
"To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration."
Despite her removal from office, Uju Kennedy affirmed her commitment to Nigeria's progress, stating that she would continue to serve the nation in any capacity available to her. "I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity," she added.
Following the reshuffle, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the former Minister of State for Police Affairs, has been appointed as the new Minister of Women Affairs.
