YULETIDE: Rt Hon Chinedu Nwamba Led Enugu Coalition Movement (ECM) Marks End-of-Year ...Applauds Gov Peter Mbah's Development Strides

The Enugu Coalition Movement for Peter Mbah (ECM) has praised the exceptional leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah during its 2024 end-of-year celebration.

The gathering, which took place to mark the close of the year, served as both a moment for the group to celebrate its achievements and an opportunity to commend the Governor's transformative work in Enugu State.

The event held on 21st December, 2024 at De Base Event Centre, Enugu, was an avenue for members of the Enugu Coalition Movement to come together, socialize, and strengthen their bond, not only as political allies but also as a close-knit community.

"It's a time to widen our circle, connect with friends, families, and colleagues, and create networks that extend beyond the political sphere," said Rt. Hon. Chinedu Nwamba, PhD, the Director-General of ECM. He further emphasized that the event was meant to show that their collective purpose extends beyond the political arena, allowing them to relax, celebrate, and appreciate the year’s accomplishments.

While mingling and enjoying the celebrations, members expressed their pride in Governor Mbah's leadership, highlighting the significant strides he has made in the state. "We supported him during the campaign, and we do not regret giving him our mandate. He has exceeded our expectations, and we are very proud to be associated with his administration," said Rt. Hon. Nwamba.

The event was graced by several notable leaders from the state government, and Nwamba took the opportunity to thank them for their support and participation. "We are celebrating the remarkable contributions of several leaders in Governor Mbah’s administration, including, Rt. Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, the Leader of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Okey Mba, House of Assembly Member representing Nkanu East, Hon Aka Eze Aka, the Executive Chairman of Udenu LGA, Dr. Eric Oluedo,  Membe, ESUT Governing council and many others" he stated. "Their presence today is a testament to their commitment to good governance, and we thank them for making time to be part of this end-of-year celebration."

The Director-General also highlighted the group's plans for future events, promising that the next end-of-year party would be even more remarkable. "We are committed to building on the unity and purpose of this year’s event and making next year’s celebration even more extraordinary," he added.

In an exclusive interview with newsmen, Dr. Chinedu Nwamba explained the origins and mission of the Enugu Coalition Movement for Peter Mbah. "ECM is a coalition of distinguished individuals from diverse political backgrounds, carefully selected to support and advance the political agenda of Governor Peter Mbah," he said. "Our goal is to strategize and mobilize support for the governor, and we are the only group that contributed financially to his campaign, while others were asking for funds."

When asked about Governor Mbah’s performance, Dr. Nwamba did not hold back in his praise. He described the governor as a visionary leader who is committed to the growth and prosperity of Enugu State. "I always tell people that Peter Mbah is a presidential material; he is just a governor for now, as he needs to start from somewhere. In just two years, with his disruptive innovation mindset, he has outperformed excellently well. The International Conference Centre in Enugu, which was completed today, and the Smart School Project, a 200-billion-naira initiative, are just a few examples of his remarkable accomplishments," Nwamba remarked.

The Smart School Project, according to Nwamba, is set to transform Enugu's educational landscape by establishing smart schools in all 260 political wards in the state. He expressed immense pride in the project, noting that upon completion, it would position Enugu as a leading state in education.

"Without any sycophancy, I would rate his performance at 90%. His focus on infrastructure, economic reforms, and development has been nothing short of impressive," Nwamba added.

On the relationship between the Enugu State House of Assembly and the executive branch of government, Nwamba pointed out that the peaceful coexistence between the two arms of government is a clear sign of mutual respect and cooperation. "The governor enjoys a peaceful relationship with the House, and there is no doubt that this is because of his sterling performance. It would be difficult for the Assembly to oppose a governor who is making such indelible marks in all spheres of life," he stated.

The event was also attended by several other distinguished members of ECM, including Engr. Okoro, Deputy Director of ECM and Legislative Assistant to the Senate President; Rt. Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, BOT Member ECM and Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly; Hon. Ejike Amedo, Treasurer of ECM and Chairman of PDP Igboeze South LGA; Obum Onuigbo, Former Secretary of Udi LGA; and Ogbos Idike, Former Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA and former Acting Commissioner of the Enugu State Ministry of Transport, Hon Patrick Ubru, Enugu State Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialisation, Hon Ibenaku Onoh, the Executive Chairman of Enugu North LGA.

The event which also featured games and entertainment, cconcluding with renewed commitment to supporting the governor and ensuring continued progress for Enugu State.
