Man, Lover Arrested for Allegedly Selling Child for ₦450,000 in Akwa Ibom

Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested Christiana Ibanga and her boyfriend, Inyene Akpan, for allegedly selling their own child for ₦450,000. The couple was apprehended after a tip-off from a woman who reported that Ibanga had lured her six-year-old daughter away to an undisclosed location.

The investigation revealed that Ibanga and Akpan sold their child in May 2024, aided by one Saviour Aniedi. The child was later sold in Aba, Abia State, to an unidentified buyer. The police have launched a manhunt for the buyer and are working to locate the missing child.

Additionally, the police have intensified efforts against illicit drug trafficking and criminal activities, resulting in multiple arrests, including the apprehension of Happiness George for selling Indian hemp and other substances.

In a chilling incident that occurred on Wednesday, September 19, 2024, a woman's life was saved after her desperate cries for help exposed an alleged ritual attempt in an Abuja hotel. The scene unfolded at Top View Hotel, Wuse Zone 5, where hotel staff rushed to rescue the woman from a harrowing ordeal.
