The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, visited the victims of the Enugu tanker explosion that occurred on January 25, 2025. During her visit to hospitals in Enugu, she expressed sympathy for the victims and prayed for their quick recovery. Umar assured the victims that they were in the thoughts of President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian people.

The NEMA team provided relief items including food such as rice, tomatoes, spaghetti, and oil, as well as medical supplies to support the affected families. The DG also acknowledged the efforts of local and federal agencies like the Enugu State Fire Service, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Police, and health workers, who had helped during the rescue operations.
