Gov. Mbah Wins Praise from Nkwo-Ogbede Market Traders for Infrastructure Reforms and Economic Support
Traders and leaders of Nkwo-Ogbede Market in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his ongoing efforts to improve market conditions and support economic growth in Enugu State. Their praise came during a recent visit by the Governor’s market monitoring team, which was led by Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Market Liaison.
As the monitoring team toured the market, traders openly acknowledged the Governor's commitment to enhancing the living conditions of people in the state, especially those in the business sector. They praised his administration for making deliberate efforts to improve market infrastructure and create a more conducive environment for commerce. Many traders emphasized how Governor Mbah’s actions have already brought positive changes to markets across Enugu, and they were confident that Nkwo-Ogbede Market would continue to benefit from his visionary leadership.
"Governor Mbah has shown that he cares deeply about us. We can see the difference his administration is making, and we believe that Nkwo-Ogbede Market will not be left behind," one of the traders shared. "We are grateful for his attention to our challenges, and we are hopeful for even more improvements."
Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, while leading the delegation, spoke about the Governor’s vision for Enugu State’s development. He assured the traders that their concerns were being heard and that the government was committed to addressing the needs of the market, including those of Nkwo-Ogbede. "The Governor believes that markets are the backbone of the state's economy, and he is fully dedicated to making sure places like Nkwo-Ogbede continue to thrive," Dr. Mbah remarked.
Although deeply appreciative of the government’s efforts, the traders also voiced a few concerns that they hoped would be addressed soon. They appealed for immediate action on the erosion challenges affecting parts of the market, particularly where shops are built along water routes. They also requested the construction of proper drainage systems and the reinforcement of the market’s foundation to prevent flooding and further erosion.
The traders remain hopeful that with the Governor’s continued support, Nkwo-Ogbede Market will receive the necessary attention to ensure it remains a bustling hub of trade and commerce, contributing to the economic prosperity of Enugu State.
