[VIDEO] Another Tragedy in Uzo Uwani 😭 Neighbourhood Watch Member Brutally Killed by Suspected Herdsmen

The peaceful community of Nkpologu in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State was thrown into mourning following the brutal killing of one of its sons, Mr. Chijioke Anioke, a dedicated member of the Neighbourhood Watch from Nkpunator-Nkpologu.

According to eyewitness accounts and community members, Mr. Anioke was mercilessly butchered by suspected herdsmen yesterday while traveling along the Nkpunator-Nkpologu road, a route that leads through the community of the current Local Government Chairman. He was reportedly on his way to Enugu Ezike to commiserate with his in-laws following the death of a relative when he was ambushed and killed.

The tragic incident has left residents shattered and heartbroken. Many took to social media and community forums to express their anguish and call for immediate government intervention.

"This morning we woke up shattered in my community Nkpologu in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State. Our brother and son was mercilessly attacked and killed by the herdsmen. We are tired of wailing and lamenting. The Nigeria government should come to our rescue. Are we no longer citizens of Nigeria? What offense have we committed by dwelling in our father’s land? God is watching," Rita Eberechukwu Anigbogu wrote on Facebook.

The killing of Mr. Anioke adds to the growing concerns over the safety of lives and properties in the agrarian Uzo Uwani region, which has suffered a string of similar attacks in recent years.

Local leaders, youth organizations, and community stakeholders are once again calling on the Enugu State Government and the Federal Government to beef up security in the area and bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.

While the community prepares to bury another of its own under tragic circumstances, the cry for protection and justice grows louder, echoing through the hills and farms of Uzo Uwani.
