Enugu Govt Sets December 31 Deadline as 105 Layouts Enter Revalidation and Digitization Phase

…As State Launches Survey Records Modernization Programme to Strengthen Land Governance and Transparency

The Enugu State Government has announced the revalidation and digitization of 105 layouts across the state as part of its Survey Records Modernization Programme aimed at enhancing transparency, securing ownership rights, and improving efficiency in land administration.

The exercise, which is being implemented through the Office of the Surveyor General, marks a major step in the state’s efforts to establish a comprehensive and verifiable digital survey database. The modernization process is expected to eliminate discrepancies in survey records, safeguard property ownership, and ensure easier access to land information by citizens and developers.

Revalidation Process and Requirements

All landowners, estate developers, and property holders within the affected layouts are required to submit their layout and survey documents for:

  • Verification and Revalidation
  • Digital Conversion and Plot Mapping
  • Issuance of New Electronic Survey Plans and Certificates

According to the Office of the Surveyor General, this process is designed to ensure that all legitimate landowners are duly captured and recognized in the state’s official land database.

Compliance Deadline: December 31, 2025

The government has fixed December 31, 2025, as the deadline for compliance. After this date, any layout that has not been revalidated will lose official government recognition, and all plots within such layouts will be classified as unverified in the state’s digital land registry.

Property owners are therefore advised to visit the Office of the Surveyor General or their Local Government Survey Desks to complete the process before the deadline.
