2027: G-17 FOR PETER MBAH BEGINS STATEWIDE MEMBERSHIP ENDORSEMENT REGISTRATION, DISTRIBUTES 170,000-SLOT ACROSS 17 LG

The G-17 for Peter Mbah, a grassroots mobilisation group supporting Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, has distributed endorsement registers across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state as part of preparations ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The distribution took place during a strategic meeting in Enugu on Thursday, where the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of the group, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, formally handed over the registers to LGA coordinators. He directed them to extend the exercise immediately to the ward and polling unit levels.

According to the group’s leadership, each endorsement register contains 10,000 slots, bringing the total target to 170,000 supporters across the 17 LGAs. The group stated that eligibility for enlistment is limited to individuals who possess a valid Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

Speaking at the event, Hon. Dr. Mbah described Governor Peter Mbah’s administration as transformational and performance-driven, citing infrastructure renewal, water projects, education reforms, and digital economy initiatives as key achievements.

“This is not politics of promises but politics of performance,” he said, adding that the endorsement drive reflects what he described as growing grassroots support for the governor’s second-term ambition.

He urged coordinators to conduct the mobilisation exercise with urgency and ensure that supporters with valid PVCs are properly captured in the registers. He also encouraged residents to participate in ongoing voter registration efforts to strengthen electoral participation.

The G-17 leadership explained that the endorsement register is designed to serve as both a mobilisation and organisational tool aimed at consolidating support structures ahead of the 2027 election cycle.

Political observers note that the statewide rollout across all 17 LGAs suggests an early effort to strengthen grassroots networks as political activities gradually build toward the next governorship contest.

The group maintained that its campaign message centres on continuity, stability, and sustained development in Enugu State.
