Enugu Commissioner Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh to Bury Mother-in-Law April 25



The Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, will lay his mother-in-law, Late Mrs. Christiana Chiuba, to rest on April 25, 2026, following her passing at the age of 87.


Late Mrs. Chiuba, née Onwuachuma, hailed from Umuegbe Amaokpara in Nkwerre Local Government Area. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and extended family members, including her daughter, Barrister Princess Lina Onyekachi Ezeh (PhD), wife of the commissioner.


According to the funeral programme released by the family, activities will commence on Friday, April 24, 2026, with a wake-keep service at St. Matthew Anglican Church, Amaokpara.


The final burial rites will take place on Saturday, April 25. The body will depart the Joint Hospital, Amaigbo, at 8:00 a.m. to her father’s compound in Umungume, Umuegbe Amaokpara. This will be followed by a lying-in-state at 10:00 a.m. at the residence of her late husband, Mr. Stephen Onyejielem.


A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Amaokpara Central School, to be officiated by St. Matthew Anglican Church, after which interment will take place at 12:00 noon in her husband’s compound.


The family noted that funeral ceremonies and condolence visits will continue after the interment, allowing friends, sympathisers, and well-wishers to pay their last respects.


Late Mrs. Chiuba is remembered as a devoted Christian, loving mother, and respected matriarch whose life was marked by humility, selfless service, and strong commitment to family and community development.
