The Convener and Board of Trustees Chairman of the G-17 Support Group for Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, has extended warm and resounding congratulations to Dr. Ben Nwoye on his emergence as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a historic victory for Enugu State and the entire South East region.


In a richly worded statement issued shortly after the conclusion of the party’s 8th National Convention held at the iconic Eagle Square in Abuja, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah hailed the outcome of the convention as a defining political milestone that signals a new era of inclusion, strategic relevance, and national integration for Enugu State.


He particularly commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as his exceptional political foresight, bridge-building capacity, and uncommon commitment to repositioning Enugu State within the mainstream of national politics.


According to him, the emergence of Dr. Ben Nwoye did not happen by chance, but was the product of deliberate leadership, strategic alignment, and the Governor’s bold decision to connect Enugu State to the centre of power, a move he described as one of the most intelligent and rewarding political decisions in the history of the state.


“Your Excellency has once again demonstrated that leadership is not just about occupying office, but about making courageous and strategic choices that open doors of opportunity for your people. This victory is a clear testament that Enugu is no longer on the sidelines but is now firmly at the heart of national politics,” he stated.


Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah further emphasized that Governor Mbah’s role in galvanizing support, fostering unity among stakeholders, and ensuring effective representation at the convention was instrumental to the success recorded, noting that the seamless participation of Enugu delegates reflected a leadership style rooted in organization, inclusiveness, and purposeful coordination.


Describing Governor Mbah as “a rewarder of loyalty and a builder of men,” the G-17 leader noted that Dr. Ben Nwoye’s emergence is not only a personal triumph but also a reflection of the Governor’s commitment to recognizing competence, rewarding dedication, and elevating credible leaders to positions of influence.


He added that with Dr. Nwoye now occupying a strategic position at the national level of the APC, Enugu State stands to benefit immensely through increased political visibility, enhanced access to federal opportunities, and stronger influence in national decision-making processes.


“This is a new dawn for our dear state. With Dr. Ben Nwoye at the centre, more doors will open, more opportunities will come, and Enugu will take its rightful place in the scheme of things. Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah also expressed profound pride in the role played by Enugu stakeholders at the convention, noting that their presence and contributions were both impactful and symbolic of a renewed political awakening in the state.


He reiterated that the Governor’s growing relationship with the national leadership of the APC, as well as his collaborative approach to governance, has continued to yield tangible results, positioning Enugu State as a model of progressive politics and development-driven leadership.


While congratulating Dr. Ben Nwoye on what he described as a well-deserved and strategic elevation, Hon. Chinedu Mbah charged him to bring his wealth of experience, administrative acumen, and grassroots connection to bear in strengthening the party and advancing the interests of the South East within the national framework.
