Hon. Onunze Declares, Seeks Support for Assembly Race in Enugu North constituency



Former Secretary of Enugu Central Development Centre and Chief Executive Officer of Patinze Company Ltd, Hon. Okechukwu Onunze, has declared his interest in running for the Enugu State House of Assembly, Enugu North Constituency.


Hon. Onunze made this known on Saturday during the local government party meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State.


Declaring his interest, Hon. Onunze stated that his desire to serve and partner with the working Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, is what drives his ambition.


He stated that Governor Mbah has made leadership in Enugu State one that inspires people to join and be part of an administration that is positively impacting lives while creating a better platform for future generations.


He added that if given the party ticket, he has the leadership qualities of the Governor to attract support from residents of Enugu North Constituency, which will translate into electoral victory at the polls.


"I am stepping forward with a clear vision to serve my people with honesty, openness, and dedication. My aim is to build trust, encourage development, and ensure that every voice in Enugu North is heard, respected, and represented effectively in the House of Assembly."


Hon. Onunze, who also served as Supervisor for Health in Enugu North Local Government Area, promised to provide quality representation, show commitment to service, maintain a high level of integrity in his activities, ensure accountability in his engagements, and remain accessible to his people. He added that his representation will bring meaningful benefits to the constituents if given the opportunity and support at the polls.


He also praised the leadership qualities of the Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, whom he described as a strong grassroots representative of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He further applauded the Chairman of APC in Enugu North Local Government Area, Hon. Ernest Onuoha, for his leadership and dedication to the growth of the party.


He called on party members to remain united and focused ahead of future elections, urging stakeholders to strengthen internal cooperation, support credible candidates, and promote peaceful political engagement that will enhance the party’s chances of success across the constituency.
