Hon. Obiajulu Ugwu Congratulates Gov. Mbah, Emerges APC Flag Bearer with Overwhelming Grassroots Support

 


The Deputy Chief Whip of the Enugu State House of Assembly and member representing Enugu South Rural Constituency, Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his landslide victory during the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election which secured his return ticket ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu described the governor’s overwhelming victory across the state as a clear reflection of the confidence, trust, and acceptance his administration has continued to enjoy among the people of Enugu State owing to his purposeful leadership, infrastructural transformation, and people-oriented governance.

Recall that Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu also emerged victorious in the APC primary election in all the nine wards that make up Enugu South Rural Constituency, recording a sweeping victory that further reaffirmed her growing political strength and grassroots acceptance across the constituency.

In a strong demonstration of leadership and commitment to transparent democratic processes, the lawmaker, alongside her political structure and supporters, moved across the nine political wards within the constituency to personally monitor and observe the conduct of the primary election. The wards monitored during the exercise included Amechi I Ward (Ward One), Amechi II Ward (Ward Two), Obeagu I Ward (Ward Three), Awkunanaw East Ward (Ward Eight), Awkunanaw West Ward (Ward Nine), Ugwuaji Ward (Ward Ten), Obeagu II Ward (Ward Eleven), Akwuke Ward (Ward Twelve), and Maryland Ward (Ward Thirteen).

Following the conclusion of the exercise, Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu was officially declared winner in Enugu South Local Government Area by the Executive Chairman of Enugu South LGA, Hon. Caleb Ani.

The atmosphere at the Enugu South Local Government Council headquarters was filled with jubilation and celebration as party faithful, women groups, youths, and political supporters gathered to celebrate both Governor Peter Mbah’s victory and the emergence of Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu as the APC flag bearer for Enugu South Rural Constituency.

Among the groups that turned out massively in solidarity were the “Loudest Voices for Peter Mbah and President Tinubu,” led by Amb. Mrs. Onyinye Mamah, alongside the “Excellent Ladies for Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu” and the “Delight Women,” all of whom praised her leadership style, accessibility, and dedication to grassroots development.

Supporters at the gathering described Hon. Princess Obiajulu Ugwu’s victory as well-deserved, noting that her performance, loyalty to the party, and close relationship with the people of the constituency played significant roles in the overwhelming support she received across the wards.

The celebrations also witnessed renewed assurances from party stakeholders and supporters to mobilize massive support for both Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections, insisting that continuity in leadership remains essential for sustained development and political stability.
