Enugu Science and Tech Commissioner Named Grand Patron of Kpakpando Women Support Group for Peter Mbah

Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh Commends Gov. Peter Mbah's transformational leadership, Empowers Enugu Women.

The Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, has been  made the Grand Patron of the Kpakpando Women Support Group for Peter Mbah, in recognition of his commitment to grassroots mobilisation and support for the administration of Governor Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

The investiture took place on Monday, July 20, 2026, during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation of the group led by its Director-General, Amb. Mrs. Amaka Nweke, JP.

The Kpakpando Women Support Group for Peter Mbah is a grassroots movement dedicated to mobilising support and canvassing votes for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah ahead of the 2027 governorship election while promoting programmes that improve the welfare of women and local communities across Enugu State.

Welcoming the delegation, Engr. Ezeh, the Prince of Mburubu commended the women for their dedication to promoting the developmental achievements of Governor Mbah's administration, describing their grassroots advocacy as vital to sustaining the state's transformation.

According to the Commissioner, re-electing Governor Mbah would ensure the continuation and consolidation of the unprecedented progress being recorded across Enugu State.

He highlighted several landmark projects of the administration, including the launch of Enugu Air, the first state-owned airline in the South-East, the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses and modern transport terminals, the ongoing construction of a 300-bed ultra-modern international hospital, the establishment of the state's technology-driven Command and Control Centre for security, the construction of rural roads, the development of Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, and the Smart Green Schools being built across all the political wards in the state.

Engr. Ezeh also praised Governor Mbah's e-governance initiatives and innovative leadership style, describing them as transformative policies that have continued to position Enugu as one of Nigeria's fastest-growing states.

Speaking further, Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's unprecedented investment in education as one of the administration's most visionary legacies. He noted that the governor's decision to allocate over 30 percent of the state's budget to education reflects a deliberate commitment to building a knowledge-driven economy and securing the future of generations yet unborn. According to him, the massive investment in Smart Green Schools, digital learning, and human capital development is not merely about constructing classrooms but about equipping young people with the skills and opportunities needed to compete globally. He said the governor's forward-thinking approach represents a transformational vision that will outlive his tenure, leaving behind a lasting foundation for sustainable development, innovation, and prosperity in Enugu State.

As part of his support for the organisation, the Commissioner donated cash to assist the group's operational activities and further pledged to empower 50 members of the Kpakpando Women Support Group to strengthen their businesses and improve their economic wellbeing.

Speaking during the meeting, the Director-General of the group, Amb. Mrs. Amaka Nweke, JP, disclosed that supporters and admirers of Governor Peter Mbah have concluded plans to roll out another round of empowerment programmes for residents across Enugu State in the last quarter of 2026.

She expressed appreciation to Engr. Ezeh for accepting the honour and for his generous support. noting that the Commissioner's commitment would significantly strengthen women-owned businesses and further advance the group's efforts to support Governor Peter Mbah's good governance agenda through grassroots mobilisation and economic empowerment.

According to her, the initiative is aimed at improving livelihoods, encouraging entrepreneurship, and expanding economic opportunities for women, youths, and other vulnerable groups at the grassroots.

She reaffirmed the group's commitment to mobilising widespread support for Governor Mbah's re-election bid in 2027, expressing confidence that the administration's impressive record of infrastructure development, innovation, healthcare, education, transportation, and economic reforms has earned the confidence and continued backing of the people of Enugu State.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the State Coordinator of the Kpakpando Women Support Group for Peter Mbah, Hon. Nneka May Ike (Ada Nkanu), expressed profound appreciation to the Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Engr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, for the warm reception, generous support, and acceptance of his appointment as the group's Grand Patron. She described his commitment to empowering women and supporting grassroots mobilisation as a demonstration of visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the development of Enugu State. Hon. Ike assured the Commissioner of the group's continued commitment to promoting Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's transformational agenda while mobilising greater grassroots support for the administration across the state.

The meeting ended with renewed commitments by both the Commissioner and the Kpakpando Women Support Group to deepen collaboration in promoting women empowerment, grassroots development, and sustained support for the transformational vision of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
