G-17 DG, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah Highlights 40km Economic Corridor, Urges Isi-Uzo to Reward Gov. Mbah with Massive Votes to Secure Continuity Agenda

...Charges Newly Inaugurated Executives to Commence Massive Door-to-Door Mobilisation for Mbah, Tinubu, all APC Candidates Ahead 2027

The APC Chairmanship Candidate for Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Brendan Ani, applauded the leadership of G-17 for bringing together credible political mobilisers from across the local government.

He expressed delight at the calibre of personalities inaugurated. "I am impressed by the quality of men and women I have seen here today. Honestly, I did not know Isi-Uzo still had this number of committed grassroots political leaders gathered under one platform."

While assuring that upon assuming office, he would sustain the existing collaboration between the council and G-17.

"By the grace of God, when I become Chairman, I will continue from where my predecessor stopped by working closely with G-17 to ensure that Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates are overwhelmingly delivered in Isi-Uzo. Looking at this structure, I can confidently say the opposition will find nobody to use here."

Hon Ani made this statement on Wednesday, June 1st, 2026, as political stakeholders, party faithful, traditional leaders, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers converged at the Isi-Uzo Local Government Council Secretariat as the organic political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, continued its statewide grassroots expansion with the inauguration of its Local Government, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

The inauguration formed part of G-17's ongoing mobilisation across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general elections. Unlike conventional support groups, G-17 maintains an organic membership structure, with members drawn exclusively from their polling units, all being registered voters, non-political appointees, sworn into office, and committed solely to the movement's grassroots mobilisation philosophy.

Welcoming the high-powered delegation led by the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, the Executive Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Obiora Obeagu, described G-17 as one of the most organised and strategic grassroots political movements in Enugu State.

The council chairman congratulated the newly inaugurated executives, reminding them that the ceremony was not merely a political event but a call to greater responsibility.

"Today, you have been called to duty. The confidence reposed in you is because of your integrity, grassroots acceptability and capacity to mobilise our people. I congratulate every one of you and urge you to justify this confidence through commitment and hard work," he said.

Hon. Obeagu stated that he deliberately identified with G-17 because of its unique organic structure, noting that the movement was built on genuine grassroots membership rather than political appointments or temporary alliances.

"G-17 is not a mushroom support group. It has enduring structures, tested leadership and genuine members across our communities. That is why I have associated myself with this movement and why Isi-Uzo Local Government will continue to give G-17 our total support."

He assured the leadership of the movement that the council would work closely with G-17 in all future mobilisation activities.

Declaring Isi-Uzo politically united behind the ruling party, the chairman stated:

"Let it be known today that Isi-Uzo is one hundred percent APC. We shall stand firmly behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and every APC candidate because their leadership has continued to bring visible development to our people."

Speaking shortly afterwards, the Chairman of the APC in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Jacob Abonyi, commended G-17 for complementing the efforts of the party at the grassroots.

According to him, the movement has simplified political mobilisation within the council.

"G-17 is helping us do our work. What they are doing across Isi-Uzo is remarkable. Their structures have made mobilisation easier for the party and we are ready to work hand-in-hand with them in every ward and every polling unit."

Also speaking, the Enugu State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Prof. Sam Ugwu, said his presence at the event was informed by his confidence in the capacity of G-17.

"I know G-17 very well. I have studied this movement closely over the years and I know what they are capable of doing. This is one grassroots organisation with the capacity, discipline and structure to deliver victory."

The Special Adviser to the Council Chairman on Political Matters, Hon. Odo Azubuike, described G-17 as a dependable grassroots mobilisation platform capable of taking the APC message directly to the people.

He stated that the movement would greatly strengthen voter education and political awareness across Isi-Uzo ahead of the 2027 elections.

The State Youth Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Nnamdi Odoh, assured party leaders that young people across the state remained committed to the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah.

"Nobody will successfully lure our youths into the opposition because the evidence of Governor Peter Mbah's development is visible everywhere, including Isi-Uzo. G-17 will work tirelessly to ensure APC records overwhelming victory."

The National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women throughout Isi-Uzo to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), intensify grassroots mobilisation and remain committed to defending their votes during the elections.

She maintained that women and children remain the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's investments in healthcare, education, economic empowerment and social welfare, stressing that women must reciprocate by delivering massive votes for Governor Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates.

Delivering the keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked the council chairman for the warm reception accorded the movement and commended the political leadership of Isi-Uzo for embracing the G-17 grassroots philosophy.

He described Isi-Uzo as one of the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's ongoing infrastructure revolution, particularly the landmark dual carriageway connecting Enugu to the northern corridor through the local government.

"Isi-Uzo is witnessing one of the biggest road projects in the history of Enugu State, a major 40-kilometre dual carriageway stretching from the Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway through Owo, Ubahu, Ama Nkanu, Umualor and Ikem, opening up this axis as an economic corridor to Obollo Afor and the North Central region. This single project alone will redefine commerce, agriculture and transportation for generations."

He further highlighted that all the 11 political wards in Isi-Uzo have benefited from Governor Mbah's people-oriented programmes through the construction of 11 Smart Green Schools and 11 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, alongside other strategic infrastructure.

"Looking at these achievements, Isi-Uzo has every reason to stand firmly with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Rewarding performance with continuity is the best way to guarantee even greater development."

Hon. Dr. Mbah added that stronger electoral support for the APC would position the local government for additional developmental projects.

"When you vote Governor Peter Mbah back to office alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and every APC candidate, you are voting for greater infrastructure, more schools, more healthcare facilities, improved security, more employment opportunities and accelerated development."

Congratulating the newly inaugurated executives, he charged them to immediately commence intensive ward-to-ward, community-to-community and door-to-door mobilisation.

"Today's inauguration is only the beginning. Go back to your polling units, educate the people, register more supporters, mobilise voters and ensure that every eligible voter understands why APC must be returned from the Presidency down to the councillorship positions."

The event ended with the formal inauguration of the Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers of G-17 For Peter Mbah, who pledged unwavering commitment to expanding the movement's grassroots structures and delivering overwhelming victories for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates across Isi-Uzo Local Government Area in the 2027 general elections.
