ATAPOLY Lauds NELFUND As ₦89.6m Disbursed to Students, Fresh ₦12.39m Reaches 242 Beneficiaries



The management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAPOLY), Bauchi State, has commended the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for its sustained intervention in supporting students and promoting access to quality tertiary education.

The commendation followed the latest disbursement of ₦12,394,601 to 242 ATAPOLY students for the 2025/2026 academic session, bringing the Polytechnic's cumulative NELFUND receipts for the session to ₦89,602,556.

In a commendation and acknowledgement letter dated August 5, 2026, the Polytechnic's Registrar, Lawal Sambo, ASCON, MISMC, expressed profound gratitude to NELFUND on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff and students of the institution.

The Registrar commended NELFUND for what the Polytechnic described as its “outstanding commitment towards promoting access to quality education in Nigeria,” while noting that the institution values the partnership and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing educational opportunities.

The latest payment represents the fourth batch of NELFUND disbursements received by ATAPOLY. The Polytechnic disclosed that the earlier first, second and third batches amounted to ₦77,207,955, while the latest ₦12,394,601 tranche brought the cumulative support for the 2025/2026 academic session to ₦89.6 million.

The intervention covers statutory charges for verified beneficiaries, providing financial support that can help eligible students remain enrolled and continue their academic programmes without disruption.

The Polytechnic also appreciated the Federal Government and NELFUND for the student support programme, describing the intervention as valuable to students and the broader education system.

The development comes under the Federal Government's student financing initiative, which seeks to reduce financial barriers to tertiary education and expand opportunities for Nigerian students.

For the 242 beneficiaries at ATAPOLY, the latest disbursement represents another direct intervention towards easing the cost of their education, while the institution's acknowledgement underscores the growing collaboration between tertiary institutions and NELFUND in delivering student financing support.
