BREAKING: Shell Exits Nigeria!

 


Shell Petroleum B.V. has signed an agreement to sell its entire interest in the Shell Nigeria Gas Group to Vaaris Energy Limited, a Nigerian company, marking its exit from Nigeria’s domestic gas distribution business.


The agreement will see Vaaris Energy acquire Shell’s full interest in the group.


Shell disclosed the transaction in a statement on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.


Further details of the transaction are expected to be announced.

   Enugu Commissioner IV, Local Government Service Commission, Amb Mrs Amaka Nweke JP, has been appointment the State Women Leader of the City Boy Movement in Enugu State. The appointment, effective February 24, 2026, was confirmed in a letter dated March 2, 2026, from the Office of the National Women Leader, signed by Shoga Francis Oluwatosin, Director General of the Movement. Mrs. Nweke will coordinate women’s structures across state, local government, and ward levels, mobilize women for civic and political engagement, mentor emerging female leaders, implement national directives, and oversee advocacy initiatives. Enugu Youths Call for Resignation of Enugu Commissioner in Solidarity with NANS

  Concerned Enugu State Youths (CESY) have demanded the immediate resignation of the Enugu State Commissioner for Transport following the alleged attack and brutalization of students by officials of the Ministry of Transport (MOT), describing the incident as a disgraceful abuse of power and a direct assault on the collective dignity of young people in the state. The youth group made this position known in Enugu on Sunday morning, in reaction to the trending reports surrounding the confrontation between officials of the Enugu State Ministry of Transport and members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), which reportedly degenerated into violence at the Enugu South Local Government Secretariat on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
