BREAKING: Gunshots As Fubara, Wike Supporters Clash at PDP Secretariat
Supporters of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, believed to be loyal to Governor Siminialayi Fubara and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, clashed at the PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt on Friday. The confrontation reportedly escalated into sporadic gunfire around the Secretariat located on the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway.
While some speculated that the gunshots were fired by security operatives stationed at the facility after the court ruling that dismissed Aaron Chukwuemeka's executives, others believe political thugs were behind the violence. Sources revealed that Fubara's supporters, who had been barred from the office by security personnel following the court decision, attempted to regain control of the premises. This led to a clash with a rival group thought to be loyal to the former governor, Nyesom Wike.
The altercation resulted in severe gunfire at the site.
