REVEALED! Real Reasons Ned Nwoko Left PDP

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a political party he has been a part of since its inception in 1999. In a resignation letter addressed to the leadership of the party in Ward 8, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nwoko stated that deep divisions within the party and the ongoing factionalisation had made it increasingly difficult for him to fulfill his responsibilities and promote the collective interests of his constituents.

Nwoko expressed disappointment in the current state of the party, noting that it had become fractured, and these divisions were hampering progress. He specifically mentioned an incident on January 29, 2025, when top party functionaries were involved in a physical altercation, which further highlighted the extent of the disunity within the party.

The senator thanked the PDP for the opportunity to serve and noted that the party platform had enabled him to connect directly with his constituents during the 2022/2023 senatorial elections. However, he emphasized that the party’s current structure in Delta State was no longer conducive to realizing the promises he made during his campaign. He cited the party’s internal strife as a major obstacle in moving forward with the work he had intended to do for his people.

In his resignation letter, Nwoko assured his constituents that despite leaving the PDP, he remained fully committed to serving them and would continue working towards their interests. He reaffirmed that his decision to resign was made after careful consideration and was done in the best interest of the people he represents. He pledged to remain focused on advancing the progress and prosperity of Delta State and the country at large.

Nwoko, who also serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriations, as well as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Sports Development, expressed his regret over the circumstances that led to his departure. Nonetheless, he reiterated that he would continue his political work independently of the PDP, emphasizing that the decision was necessary for him to fulfill his obligations to his constituents.

In closing, Nwoko thanked the PDP leadership and members for their support over the years, wishing the party success in its future endeavors.
