Enugu East Council Chairman, Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike Endorses Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025 ...Hails Initiative as a Pathway to Prosperity

In yet another high-profile endorsement, the Executive Chairman of Enugu East Local Government Area, Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, fondly known as “Mr. Project”, has thrown his full support behind the upcoming Nkanu Youths Economic Summit and Apprenticeship Programme 2025, describing it as a “bold and visionary step” toward addressing youth unemployment and promoting self-reliance.

The endorsement was made during a strategic engagement held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Enugu East Council Headquarters, where the summit organisers, led by the President of Nkanu Youth Organization, Comrade Dika David, paid a courtesy visit to present the objectives and blueprint of the initiative.

Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, known for his development-driven leadership style, commended the initiative as a critical intervention that aligns with the grassroots empowerment agenda of the Enugu East Local Government and the broader vision of Governor Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to equip youths with skills for the future.

“This programme is not just timely, it is essential. It offers our young people real-life tools to become job creators instead of job seekers. As a government, we will continue to support initiatives like this that are targeted at building capacity and reducing dependency,” the Chairman said.

He also praised the incorporation of the traditional Igbo apprenticeship model, Igba-Boi, within the programme framework, noting that it has been the bedrock of economic growth for generations in Igbo land.

“What you are doing with this summit is reawakening a legacy system and fusing it with modern entrepreneurial trends. This is the kind of thinking that builds nations,” he added.

Responding on behalf of the delegation, Comrade Dika David appreciated Engr. Pastor Anike for his strong leadership and commitment to youth development, describing him as a “pillar of grassroots transformation.” He assured the Chairman that the Nkanu Youths Economic Summit 2025, slated for Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Enugu International Conference Centre, will live up to its promise of delivering long-lasting impact across communities.

The summit will feature mentorship sessions, apprenticeship placements, and startup support across various sectors including fashion, agriculture, tech repair, catering, metal works, hairdressing, carpentry, and others.
