The statewide grassroots political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, oon Wednesday, 17th of June 2026 recorded another major breakthrough in its mobilisation drive as it stormed Enugu North Local Government Area for the inauguration of its Local Government, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers, further strengthening support for the re-election of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Enugu North Local Government Secretariat, attracted political stakeholders, party leaders, women groups, youths, community leaders, traditional rulers, and supporters from the thirteen political wards of the council area.

A major highlight of the event was the official signing of the G-17 Endorsement Register by the Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Harford Onoh, who openly endorsed Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second tenure and pledged total support for the activities of G-17 within the local government area.

The endorsement register was formally presented to the council chairman by the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, JP, amidst applause from party faithful and supporters.

Addressing the gathering shortly after signing the register, Dr. Onoh reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Peter Mbah's re-election bid, noting that the governor's unprecedented achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, transportation, economic transformation, and human capital development have earned him overwhelming support across Enugu North Local Government Area.

The chairman maintained that Enugu North remains one of the biggest beneficiaries of Governor Mbah's administration and therefore has every reason to support the continuity of his transformational leadership.

He described G-17 For Peter Mbah as the foremost grassroots political support structure in Enugu State, noting that its extensive network across communities, wards, and polling units places it ahead of many other political organisations.

According to him, the group has demonstrated uncommon capacity in political mobilisation and voter education, making it a strategic partner in the effort to secure victory for Governor Mbah, President Tinubu, and all APC candidates in 2027.

Dr. Onoh pledged his readiness to work closely with the G-17 leadership and newly inaugurated executives to ensure effective grassroots mobilisation throughout the local government area.

The chairman further declared that Enugu North would deliver Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates across the thirteen electoral wards of the council area before any other local government in the state.

He expressed confidence that the visible dividends of democracy being enjoyed by residents would translate into massive electoral support for the ruling party in the coming elections.

Also speaking, former Chairman of the APC in Enugu North Local Government Area and current Special Adviser on Political Matters to the council chairman, Hon. Okey Ezeike, described G-17 For Peter Mbah as one of the oldest and most established grassroots political support groups in the state.

According to him, G-17 is not a new organisation in Enugu North but a household name with a long history of grassroots engagement and political mobilisation.

Hon. Ezeike expressed delight over what he described as the revival and expansion of the movement across the state, assuring the leadership of the group of his confidence in its ability to deliver electoral victories for the APC.

"G-17 is a tested and trusted grassroots structure. It is a household name in Enugu North and across the state. I am particularly happy to witness its renewed strength and expansion. With the calibre of men and women being inaugurated today, I have no doubt that the group possesses the capacity to mobilise support and deliver victory for Governor Peter Mbah, President Tinubu and all APC candidates," he stated.

In her remarks, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women across Enugu North Local Government Area to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and actively participate in the electoral process.

She noted that women and children remain the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's administration through the Smart Green Schools initiative, healthcare reforms, social welfare programmes, and other people-oriented projects.

The women leader called on mothers, traders, professionals, and young women to intensify mobilisation efforts within their communities and support the re-election of Governor Mbah and President Tinubu.

"Women have benefited tremendously from the policies and programmes of Governor Peter Mbah. We must therefore rise and play our role by obtaining our PVCs and ensuring that we vote massively for Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in 2027," she said.

Delivering the keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, JP, thanked the people of Enugu North Local Government Area for their continued support for Governor Peter Mbah and his administration.

Dr. Mbah described Enugu North as one of the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Mbah's developmental agenda, citing the numerous projects and interventions executed within the local government area.

According to him, all thirteen electoral wards in Enugu North have benefited immensely from the administration through the construction of Smart Green Schools, Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, road infrastructure projects, urban renewal programmes, and other strategic interventions.

The G-17 Director-General stated that the strategic position of Enugu North as the capital territory and administrative headquarters of the state has attracted significant government investments under Governor Mbah.

He noted that nearly half of the state's developmental activities are concentrated within Enugu North due to its importance as the seat of government and commercial hub of Enugu State.

"Enugu North is the seat of power. It hosts the state capital and serves as the administrative headquarters of Enugu State. It is therefore natural that the government pays significant attention to its development. The truth is that Enugu North remains one of the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's administration," Dr. Mbah stated.

He further explained that the flow of government activities and investments from Enugu North impacts every other local government area in the state, making the council strategically important to the success of the governor's developmental vision.

Dr. Mbah therefore maintained that the people of Enugu North have no reason not to support Governor Peter Mbah's re-election, given the numerous projects and opportunities that have been attracted to the area.

The G-17 Convener also expressed support for the chairman's declaration that Enugu North would deliver Governor Mbah and President Tinubu ahead of every other local government area in the state.

"I completely concur with the chairman's target. Enugu North has what it takes to lead from the front. With the structures we have inaugurated today and the achievements of Governor Peter Mbah on ground, there is no reason why Enugu North should not deliver massively for Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates," he declared.

Dr. Mbah congratulated the newly inaugurated Local Government Executives, Ward Coordinators, and Polling Unit Canvassers, urging them to immediately commence intensive door-to-door, street-to-street, and polling-unit-to-polling-unit mobilisation campaigns.

He charged them to take the message of Governor Mbah's achievements directly to the grassroots and ensure that every eligible voter is properly sensitised ahead of the 2027 elections.

"Our assignment begins now. Go into the communities. Go into the wards. Go into every polling unit. Tell the people what Governor Peter Mbah has done and why continuity is necessary. Let us mobilise from top to bottom and ensure overwhelming victory for Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in 2027," he charged.

The inauguration of the Enugu North Local Government structure marks another significant milestone in the continued statewide expansion of G-17 For Peter Mbah, further consolidating its presence across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

Recall that G-17 For Peter Mbah recently inaugurated its structures in Enugu East, Enugu South, Aninri and Awgu Local Government Areas, where council chairmen, political stakeholders, and community leaders openly endorsed Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's second-term bid and signed the group's endorsement register. The movement has continued to expand its grassroots network through ward executives, polling unit canvassers, voter education campaigns, and community engagements aimed at strengthening support for Governor Mbah's continuity agenda across Enugu State.
