G-17 Sweeps Into Ezeagu, Inaugurates Massive Grassroots Structure Ahead of 2027

The grassroots-based political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, stormed Ezeagu Local Government Area with a massive inauguration of its Local Government and Ward Executives, further consolidating its statewide mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The colourful event by this organic political movement, held at the Ezeagu Local Government Secretariat, attracted political stakeholders, traditional leaders, women groups, youth organisations, party faithful, and supporters from across the twenty political wards of the council area.

The highlight of the event was the warm reception accorded to the G-17 delegation by the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Vita Ndu, who openly declared his support for the group and pledged to work closely with its structures in ensuring the re-election of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in 2027.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ndu described G-17 For Peter Mbah as the most grassroots-based political support group he has seen in the state, noting that its structures and membership cut across all communities and polling units in Enugu State.

According to him, the newly inaugurated executives are genuine foot soldiers of Governor Peter Mbah and have demonstrated uncommon commitment and loyalty to the governor's vision of transforming Enugu State.

He assured the leadership of the group of his total support, expressing confidence that with G-17's formidable grassroots structures, the governor's re-election would be an easy task in Ezeagu Local Government Area.

The council chairman further showered praises on Governor Mbah, describing him as not only the best governor in Nigeria but also the best governor in Africa today. "Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is setting a pace for other leaders across Africa to emulate. He is the kind of leader we should have not only in Nigeria but in the entire African continent. His style of governance, developmental strides, and innovative policies have distinguished him as one of the finest leaders of our generation," Dr. Ndu declared.

He particularly commended the governor's investments in education and healthcare, noting that the Smart Green Schools being constructed across the state would equip Enugu children with the necessary tools to compete globally.

The chairman also praised the establishment of the Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, emphasizing that the administration's commitment goes beyond constructing hospitals to adequately equipping them with modern facilities.

As one of the highest beneficiaries of Governor Mbah's administration, Dr. Ndu noted that Ezeagu hosts twenty Smart Green Schools and twenty Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres across its twenty political wards.

He therefore declared that Ezeagu people would reward the governor's good works with overwhelming support and votes in the forthcoming election. "With G-17 on the6 ground, the election will be very easy in Ezeagu. Governor Peter Mbah will get one hundred percent votes from Ndi Ezeagu in 2027," he said.

Speaking further, the APC Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Hon. Steve Anibueze, expressed gratitude to the leadership of G-17, stating that the support group has made mobilisation work easier for the party.

He described G-17 as a tested and trusted grassroots movement whose strength and capacity over the years have made it capable of delivering any political candidate.

According to him, the APC in Ezeagu is fully prepared to work hand-in-hand with G-17 across the twenty political wards to ensure the victory of Governor Peter Mbah and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

Representing the former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor, his representative stated that Dr. Uzor was delighted to identify with G-17 because of its proven grassroots capacity and organisational strength.

He noted that Dr. Uzor had worked closely with G-17 in previous years and fully understands what the group is capable of achieving politically. "With G-17, the coming elections are already a done deal for all APC candidates. We know what this structure represents, and we are ready to work together to deliver victory," he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Coordinator of G-17 For Peter Mbah in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Marcel Nnachetam, appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu for his support and encouragement towards the successful inauguration.

He thanked the Director-General of G-17 for giving him the opportunity to serve and congratulated the newly inaugurated executives, urging them to remain committed to the vision and objectives of the movement.

In her remarks, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women in Ezeagu to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards.

She reminded the women that they remain the backbone of electoral victories, noting that women are usually the first to arrive at polling units and the last to leave after ensuring that their votes count.  "Women are known for voting and staying at polling units from morning till the end of elections. We must get our PVCs and prepare to re-elect Governor Peter Mbah and all APC candidates in 2027," she stated.

Delivering his keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, appreciated the people of Ezeagu for their warm reception and commended the Executive Chairman, Dr. Vita Ndu, for his remarkable developmental achievements.

He specifically praised the construction of the 2,000-capacity world-class mini ultra-modern stadium in Ezeagu, describing it as one of its kind in Enugu State. "The last time I visited Ezeagu, it was not like this. Everywhere has changed and transformed. It shows clearly that Ezeagu is in good hands and that the chairman is following the innovative leadership footsteps of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah," he stated.

Highlighting Governor Mbah's achievements in Ezeagu, Dr. Mbah disclosed that the administration has enabled twenty-seven functional boreholes across the local government area, in addition to the twenty Smart Green Schools and twenty Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres spread across the twenty political wards.

He also cited several road projects, including the road from Ama Brewery axis connecting Umulokpa and Uzo-Uwani as well as numerous internal roads.

According to him, Ezeagu remains one of the major beneficiaries of Governor Mbah's developmental agenda and therefore has every reason to reward him with massive votes in 2027. "Voting for Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is non-negotiable. President Tinubu has done wonders on the Ugwuonyeama axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, a road that serves many communities in Ezeagu. The ongoing Opi-Ninth Mile Road project and the appointment of an Igbo son as Minister of Works are also clear indications that Ndi Igbo are benefiting from being connected to the centre," Dr. Mbah said.

He further disclosed that by December this year, cargo flights from the Enugu International Airport would begin flying directly to China, thereby opening Enugu to the global market and reducing the high cost of transporting goods through Lagos.  "This is one of the many benefits of Governor Peter Mbah connecting Enugu State to the centre through the APC. APC is a goal, and Ezeagu people must vote APC from head to toe in 2027," he declared.

Dr. Mbah thereafter congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and charged them to immediately commence aggressive door-to-door mobilisation, political education, and sensitisation campaigns in all communities and polling units.

The inauguration of the Ezeagu Local Government and Ward Executives marks another significant milestone in the continued expansion of G-17's statewide grassroots mobilisation network, further strengthening its presence across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
