NEWS FLASH! G-17 Storms Oji River, Expands Statewide Movement with Unveiling of LG and Ward Executives, Vows to Deliver Mbah, Tinubu and All APC Candidates in 20

"With G-17, Victory Is Certain" –  Stakeholders Affirm

The political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, on Friday, 26th June 2026, stormed Oji River Local Government Area to inaugurate its Local Government, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers in a colourful and well-attended ceremony held at the Oji River Local Government Council Secretariat.

The event attracted a mammoth crowd of political stakeholders, party faithful, traditional leaders, women groups, youth organisations and community representatives, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration also reaffirmed the unique identity of G-17 For Peter Mbah as an organic grassroots support movement whose members are not political appointees and do not belong to other support groups. The organisation maintains functional structures from the local government level down to the polling units, while its members are required to be registered voters and holders of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), a prerequisite for their inauguration into the movement's various structures.

Welcoming the G-17 delegation to Oji River, the Executive Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area, Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike, described G-17 For Peter Mbah as the number one support group in Enugu State and one of the most formidable grassroots mobilisation structures in the state's political history.

The council chairman pledged to work closely with the organisation to ensure the successful re-election of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

"Oji River is good to go. With the structure of G-17 spread across our wards and polling units, there is no reason not to deliver Governor Peter Mbah and all APC candidates in 2027," he declared.

According to him, the achievements of Governor Mbah's administration across Oji River and the entire state have made the work of mobilisation easy for party leaders and support groups.

"We shall make sure that every eligible voter gets his or her PVC because victory is assured for APC in Oji River," he added.

Hon. Anyaegbudike maintained that there was no reason whatsoever not to deliver all APC candidates in the 2027 elections, stressing that Governor Peter Mbah has demonstrated uncommon love for Oji River people and deserves their total support.

Speaking at the event, the APC Chairman of Oji River Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Udebuluzo,  stated that the party identifies strongly with G-17 because of its genuine grassroots orientation and organic nature.

"The reason I associate myself with G-17 is because they are truly rooted in the grassroots. The people inaugurated today are capable of mobilising and convincing the electorate," he said.

He assured the gathering that the APC in Oji River would work hand-in-hand with G-17 to achieve a resounding victory in 2027.

Also speaking, the Member representing Oji River Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Osita Eze, pledged his total support for the activities of G-17 For Peter Mbah.

"G-17 is in every community and polling unit in Oji River. This structure has what it takes to deliver all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections," he stated.

He described the organisation as a household name and assured its leadership of his readiness to work closely with the movement.

The Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu (Omeiheukwu), who was represented at the event by  Hon. Ephraim Offiah, due to his unavoidable absence, said he had known G-17 for decades and had worked with the organisation in the past.

"I know G-17 very well and I know what they are capable of doing. I am ready to work with this structure again because they have consistently proven themselves in grassroots mobilisation," his representative said.

He described the group as capable of delivering Governor Peter Mbah and all APC candidates in 2027 and pledged to work with the organisation across Aninri, Awgu and Oji River Local Government Areas.

The Provost of the Enugu State College of Health Technology also hailed Governor Peter Mbah, describing him as a "talk-and-do governor" who has fulfilled all the promises he made during his visit to the institution.

"Governor Peter Mbah fulfilled all the promises he made to our college. He is indeed a talk-and-do governor," he said.

He noted that the governor's interventions in the College of Health have significantly improved the institution's fortunes and urged the people of Oji River to continue supporting the administration.

The Provost equally commended G-17 for identifying and engaging committed men and women to serve as foot soldiers of the party and encouraged young people to take advantage of the opportunities available at the College of Health, noting that admission forms were already on sale.

In her remarks, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, called on women across Oji River Local Government Area to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts and ensure wider participation in the electoral process.

"Women and children are the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's administration. We must obtain our PVCs and be prepared to defend our votes in 2027," she said.

She stressed that women have a major role to play in the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and the success of all APC candidates.

Delivering the keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked the Oji River Local Government Chairman for creating an enabling environment for the group's activities in the council area.

He particularly commended Hon. Greg Chijioke Anyaegbudike for the scholarship awards granted to 48 students at the College of Health and for the rehabilitation of several roads and critical infrastructure across the local government area.

"Oji River is already converted. The people have no reason not to support Governor Peter Mbah because they have benefited immensely from his administration," he declared.

Dr. Mbah stated that Oji River remains one of the major beneficiaries of the governor's development agenda and political appointments.

He highlighted the establishment of twenty Smart Green Schools and twenty Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres across the political wards, the rehabilitation and revitalisation of the College of Health, road infrastructure projects and other critical interventions in the area.

"What we are seeing today is unprecedented development and the appropriate response is to reward excellence through massive support and votes in 2027," he added.

He congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and charged them to immediately commence aggressive door-to-door mobilisation and political education campaigns.

"Go from door to door and tell our people about the good works of Governor Peter Mbah. The task before us is to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and all APC candidates from top to bottom," Dr. Mbah stated.

The inauguration of the Oji River Local Government and Ward Executives marks another significant milestone in G-17's ongoing statewide grassroots mobilisation campaign, further consolidating its structures across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
