The Unpatriotic Isi-Uzo Propagandists who call themselves Isi-Uzo Patriots- A rejoinder to the Press Conference held on Thursday 11th June, 2026 by Mr. Dennis Agbo and His Co-Travellers*
Ifeanyi Ogenyi Esq:
In the face of co-ordinated propaganda against the entire Eha-Amufu people by some disgruntled elements including those who have claimed to be Isi-Uzo Patriots, one will not be cowed down in speaking the truth .
It is unfortune that these propagandists are hell bent on spreading falsehood and distorting history so as to score cheap political points but nobody will be deceived .
In the bid to misinform and/or hoodwink the gullible public, they are desperately weeping up unnecessary parochial sentiments against Eha-Amufu people but unfortunately, they spuriously deodorized their ill-intended stories with non-existing data and/or distorted facts . No reference was made to the last APC membership registration across the 11 wards in isi-Uzo. Shockingly, these propagandists were among those discouraging Isi-Uzo people from joining APC. Mr. Dennis Agbo, the convener of Isi-Uzo patriots overtly launched severe campaign against APC in Isi-uzo in the build up to movement to APC from PDP .They also launched attack on those from the opposition in 2023 who later moved to PDP and later to APC.
One would have thought that in the spirit of sportsmanship, the outcome of the APC council election primary held on the 28th May 2026 across the 17 L.G.A should have been accepted by the actors and genuine players. However, the Press Conference organised by one Dennis Agbo and his co-propagandists in which they accused Eha-Amufu of monopolizing political positions in Isi-Uzo and also called for the reversal of the zoning of the chairmanship position to Eha-Amufu West Development Centre has revealed that some persons are desperate for power. Such weighty and vexatious accusations levelled against Eha-Amufu, though frivolous is not only unwarranted and uncalled for but also unfounded, illogical and ridiculous. It amounts to fanning of embers of war and sowing seed of discord in Isi-Uzo .
The call for reversion to the initial three Development Centres in Isi-Uzo and to reckon with same in power sharing; and also for reversal of the zoning of the chairmanship position to Eha-Amufu West is belated. It is smacks of lack of conscience and political consciousness by the propagandists. This singular call by these conscienceless fellows masquerading themselves as “Isi-Uzo patriots” obviously betrayed their ill-intentions.
What are those political positions monopolized by Eha-Amufu people since 1999 till date? How many people from Eha-Amufu East and West Development Centres are occupying political positions currently, except Hon. Obiora Obeagu ?
Presently the House of Assembly position is being occupied by Isi-Uzo Central, a serving Commissioner in the State Executive Council is also from Isi-uzo Central, SSA to the Governor on Strategic Communication and Secretary of State Security Trust Fund are all from Isi-Uzo Central.
Eha-Amufu West Development Centre where the chairmanship candidate of APC has emerged from neither occupy any appointment position nor elective position since 2023 till date. Now by September 2026 or so soon thereafter, Eha-Amufu East Development will serve out as chairman of the Council. What it would have ordinarily meant is that both Eha-Amufu East and West ( the two Development Centres) would have been without any position in government, while isi-Uzo Central with the positions afore-mentioned would have gotten the chairmanship position in addition to the existing ones . Where is then justice!
It is obvious that the present agitation being driven by those who do not mean well for Isi-Uzo and indeed, the state is not borne out of a genuine concern for for justice, fairness and equitable sharing of powers and /or making progress in Isi-Uzo, rather, they are propelled by animosity against Eha people. Their sole target is to bring Eha-Amufu down in every ramification.
Unarguably, the creation of a second Development Centre in Eha-Amufu in 2015 was borne out of fairness and genuine concern to balance power sharing among the five federating communities in Isi-Uzo after a thorough statistical analysis of the population of Eha-Amufu people which is well known to Mr. Dennis Agbo and the other conspirators.
And since the creation of the second Development Centre in Eha-Amufu, all the Development Centres have been existing and key positions have been shared among the four Development Centres in Isi-Uzo without any protestation and/or agitation from any quota or bloc.
The questions that have been agitating my mind and worriedly so, are, why this sudden rise against Eha-Amufu people by Dennis Agbo and those behind the scene sponsoring the campaign of calumny against Eha-Amufu people? Have these people been silently praying for the total annihilation of Eha-Amufu people from the face of the earth? What have Eha-Amufu people done to deserve such co-ordinated attack on them? Does Eha-Amufu West Development Centre not have the right to occupy the chairmanship position in Isi-Uzo like other people from other Development Centres? The emergence of the APC chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming Isi-Uzo council election from Eha-Amufu West Development Centre is proper and a welcome development.
It is important to note that Eha-Amufu is neither at war with Ikem, Neke, Mbu and Umulaor nor monopolising political positions in Isi-Uzo as the propagandists have been trying had to portray in their misconceived press conference which is not only deliberately calculated to mislead the gullible public but also aimed at starring the political atmosphere in Isi-Uzo.
The propagandists have failed to acknowledge the fact that that key political positions in Isi-Uzo have always been shared based on Development Centre arrangement and that is why, the chairmanship position, vice chairmanship, secretary to the council and key legislative posts are not concentrated on one Development Area, they are equitably distributed among the four Development Centres. Now Isi-Uzo Central will produce the next vice chairman of the Council.
Let our people disregard those persons sowing seeds of discord among us. A united Isi-Uzo should be our collective interests.
