  The Enugu State government has given approval for the election of a new traditional ruler for the Mburubu community, scheduled for tomorrow, February 28, 2025, at the Community Primary School in Mburubu. The announcement was made in a letter dated February 25, addressed to the President General of the Mburubu Town Union, High Chief (Hon) Emmanuel Sopuruchukwu Edeh, by the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs. The Ministry confirmed that the election would be conducted in accordance with the provisions outlined in the 2003 Mburubu Town Union Constitution and in compliance with relevant laws and constitutional requirements. This is in line with the court ruling, issued on February 12, 2025, which invalidated the claim of Mr. Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe to impose himself as the Igwe following his controversial election by a faceless group called the Mburubu General Assembly.

The battle between the Anambra State government and native doctors is getting tougher as no fewer than 300 native doctors from various parts of the state gathered yesterday to condemn Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s crackdown on their activities. The Niger State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly trying to buy a six-month-old foetus for ritual purposes. Spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement, said the suspects offered a pregnant woman N30m to remove her foetus. Another Fake Sergeant Arrested on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, identified as Harry Collins, for impersonating a police officer while dressed in a full police uniform with a sergeant rank. A 27-year-old pastor was bitten by a Black Mamba during prayer in Hazelmere – KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The incident happened on Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, while the victim was conducting a prayer next to a river. A member of the public contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 06:41, requesting urgent medical assistance for the man.
